A Very Lucky Annie number 2!

A: You can see the first part of this post here, as Chloe and I were both super spoilt over the Christmas period, we decided to split up our ‘haul’ posts into a few separate ones – so here’s my second post! We are in no way bragging about the gifts we have received, we just love reading these kinds of posts on other blogs so thought we would share ours with your lovely readers.

I got a really lovely selection of beauty products, some new nail varnishes – Barry M, a Sally Hansen and an Essie, all of which I will be reviewing in the future so keep following! My cousin got me some gorgeous Bare Minerals lip glosses too, which I have had my eye on for a while!
Chloe got me the Zoella Soak Opera which I have been after testing out for ages, and she also got me the Holly Go Lightly bath bomb from Lush as well as the most beautiful highlighter/blush in the world from I ❤️ Make Up. She knows me so well! Lastly in the ‘beauty’ section, my brother and sister-in-law got me the Chanel No.5 body lotion, something I have been lusting after since I tested out my Mum’s a few months ago (see here for my review!) so I was super excited to receive this.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/178/63282436/files/2014/12/img_5048.jpg
Onto jewellery, my parents got me these beautiful handmade glass earrings from a craft market in Tenerife. And my boyfriend did very well indeed as he got me these pearls, which are beyond precious. I love them so much and can’t wait to wear them and I will treasure them for the rest of my life.

An AMAZING handbag/backpack from my brother and sister-in-law. I start a new job in January and I’m so excited to pack this up and use it. I’m very particular about bags but this one is perfect, I cannot wait to wear it! It’s Jane Shilton, but it came from TK Maxx – I’m not at all bothered by brands, I love this purely because it’s so practical/patent blue with massive gold fastenings!

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/178/63282436/files/2014/12/img_5050.jpg
We have two British Blues and because I’m a crazy cat lady I tend to get a lot of cat related gifts. I love this watch so much, my friend Spen bought me it and it’s hideous/amazing at the same time. I also got this book, and the cat on the front cover look exactly like my cats Bill and Ted!

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/178/63282436/files/2014/12/img_5032.jpg Another cat related present, but it is so very true ❤️.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/178/63282436/files/2014/12/img_5041.jpg
We also get a lot of campervan related gifts because we have a campervan! This amazing crocheted bag is from my mum and was made by my auntie, she is a genius when it comes to knitting and crocheting – it’s amazing isn’t it!! A lovely campervan moneybox too, to help us save our pennies for how holidays. And a super cute campervan case from my beautiful cousin, which I will be using as a pencil case for my new job!

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/178/63282436/files/2014/12/img_5056.jpg

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/178/63282436/files/2014/12/img_5060.jpgAnd lastly for now, a beautiful faux fur leopard print coat from my lovely aunt and uncle. I CANNOT get enough of this, it’s from Red Herring and feels beautiful to wear. I can guarantee it’ll be in a lot of ootds! An amazing tartan scarf which was actually featured in my Christmas wishlist – well done to my cousin on this one! It’s from ASOS and it’s so cosy! I don’t even care that they totally don’t match, I’m more than happy to wear them at the same time. It’s normal to want to wear all of your Christmas presents at once isn’t it? And finally, these gorgeous Cath Kidston earrings with emerald green colour stones. They are so special, I’ve been wearing them every day since Christmas 🙂

Sorry for the super long post guys, but I hope you enjoyed reading and being nosey! What did you get for Christmas? #twolittleowlsblog

Chloe’s Second Christmas Haul Post

C: As I mentioned in my previous Christmas haul post (which you can see here) I was very lucky this year and received so many goodies I have split it into two posts! This post will be the beauty items I received this year. Now I am aware I got super spoilt so once again this is not a form of bragging, I just have a very large family and we all enjoy buying each other lots of presents so we all end up with lots of goodies!

Nail Stuff

photo 1(21)

Soap & Glory Nail Call Gift Set – my little bro got me this badboy! I love S&G and I love painting my nails so it was a good bet! The gloves freak me out a bit, but I will give them a go and report back. I have also never used S&G nail polish before so I am excited to try those!

Studio London Nail Polishes – these were from my sister and were all individual packaged in mini crackers! What a great idea!

Models Own Nail Polishes – these were from L’s Auntie! They are Hyper Gel, gel effect polishes which I am guessing means they are super shiny and hopefully long lasting! Once I have had a chance to try them out I will post a review.

Skincare Gift Sets

photo 2(20)

S &G: The Soapremes, All the Right Smoothes & Soap for the Best Sets – As you can see my family (and L) are aware of my love for S&G! I think I have enough bath stuff here to last me until next Christmas!

Lush Sets: Best Wishes & Secret Santa – Secret Santa contains a Father Christmas bath bomb which I have never tried before and Honey I Washed the Kids soap – which is one of my favourites! The Best Wishes box contains a Cinders and a So White bath bomb and a Hot Toddy shower gel. I got lots of Lush stuff as when we move into our new house (hopefully March!) I will finally have a bath! Don’t worry… I do wash, we just only have a shower in our apartment so it will be nice to have a nice relaxing bath again.

Beauticology Set – I have seen a lot from this brand but never tried anything from it myself. It contains some amazingly scented shower gels, body butters and a shower puff! Can’t wait to try them all!

Random (but fun) bath stuff

photo 3(12)

Okay so the most exciting thing here (other than the Hello Kitty body spray obvs) is the Winter Spice Sugar Scrub which L’s mum made me! It looks/smells amazing and I can’t wait to try it. She will be writing you a nice post soon on how she made it so you can all have a go!

Make Up

photo 4(8)

Clinique Party Lips & Nails Set – I love Clinique chubby sticks for a moisturising hint of colour so I was excited to receive this from my Aunties! It also contains to nail polishes – and I have never tried any Clinique ones before. I shall be posting a review of this soon!

Sleek Highlighting Palette – from Annie! She was so excited to give me this and I can see why! I have taken photos of this for a review, but just to warn you… Annie is such a good friend/liked this so much that she stuck her fingers in to try it before giving it to me! If it wasn’t funny I would tell her off.

MAC Rebel Lipstick & Woodwinked Eyeshadow – I gave out a little scream of excitement when I opened this! So so so so excited to own these! I feel like these are bblogger staples that I needed to own and I bloody love them. Reviews/swatches coming soon!

Fearne Made You Look – this contains 3 beautiful eyeshadows, a glitter pot and an eyeshadow base stick. It truly is beautiful and I would recommend getting your hands on it if it is still available from Boots (or even better is in the sale!) I shall be posting a look I made with this soon!

So there we have it… the longest Christmas haul ever! Let me know what you think, and please comment links to your Christmas hauls as I love reading them! #twolittleowlsblog

A Very Lucky Annie

A: Well it’s the day after Boxing Day, a day to relax, eat cheese and drink any left over wine for my boyfriend and I. Chloe and I have really had a lovely Christmas, and we hope you guys have too! I thought I’d take some time to have a look through some of the lovely gifts I received, and also thought I’d share them with you. Chloe posted about hers yesterday (click here), so here are a few of mine, and I’ve started with the homeware bits and pieces. I’ll post about everything else another day, I’ve been reallllllly spoilt and it was a little too much to put in one post. By the way, we are in no way bragging about how many presents we got, we love reading these on other blogs and always get really good present ideas from them so if you are interested or need some ideas of your own, carry on reading!

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/178/63282436/files/2014/12/img_5031.jpg

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/178/63282436/files/2014/12/img_5030.jpg
My nanny bought me this lovely dinner set and egg store. I have a country style kitchen so these will fit in perfectly, and I’ve always wanted a chicken egg store so was super happy about this!

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/178/63282436/files/2014/12/img_5033.jpg

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/178/63282436/files/2014/12/img_5035.jpg
I also got some beautiful vintage cocktail glasses which I am in love with, a set of 6 which have taken pride of place in my drinks cabinet. There’s also a vintage Bon Bon dish tucked away in one of the photos, if you didn’t already realise I am a big fan of vintage glass wear.
Some Laura Ashley measuring cups, which is something I really needed and they are pretty too so that’s a bonus! And the cutest miniature measuring cups and jugs in the world, for teaspoon and tablespoon measurements. These are from Rosie’s Pantry – and they are adorable. An owl mug, and a chocolate owl – a bit of a theme to Chloe and I’s Christmas presents this year! (I did eat some of the chocolate owl, it looked too yummy to resist).

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/178/63282436/files/2014/12/img_5037.jpg

My boyfriend and I are a big fan of Le Creseut crockery and my aunt and uncle bought us this lovely set of two mini pie dishes. I will put these to good use over the next few weeks and include a recipe post for you readers too!
My nanny also bought us these steak knives and forks – a perfect gift for us (we are having steak tonight!).
/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/178/63282436/files/2014/12/img_5040.jpg
Burgers are one of our all time favourite foods, and Chloe and her boyfriend bought us this amazing burger recipe book. I’m so excited to use this, again I’m sure there will be some recipes popping up on the blog from us!
Lastly, a hilarious mug ‘PAWS’ from my boyfriend. I did lol a lot when I opened it.

What did you guys get for Christmas? #twolittleowls

P.s sorry some of the photos are a little dark – it’s really grey and miserable outside!!

A Boxing Day Christmas Haul!

C: happy Boxing Day guys! Hope you have all had a fantastic Christmas and successfully slept off the wine/food from yesterday ready to start again today! We have been doing blogmas2k14, so have been posting every day but now that has finished we will be returning to our usual routine of posting every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and once over the weekends! So to start us off I am going to do my first Christmas haul post – I am splitting it into two as I got super spoilt so today I am going to be showing you the house/other bits I received and then my next post will be the beauty items I received. Please note, this is in no way a method of bragging – I just love reading these on other peoples blogs and wanted to share all the treats I got with you lovely readers. So lets get cracking!

House Stuff

photo 1(20)

Russell Hobbs Kettle and Toaster – we are currently doing up a house and are hoping to move in in March (ish) time. I obvs have a kettle and toaster… but I really loved these and mine are super old now so asked for these. I love the cream colour, will look lovely in my farmhouse-style kitchen!

Salter weighing scales – I love baking so I also asked Santa for these (but my nan got them… magic) as my non-electric scales are very old and not very accurate now! Cant wait to bust this out!

Next Sharing Board Gift Set – apologies for the horrendous photo, its dark and foggy here so had to put all the lights on to be able to see anything in the photos! This is a wooden board with two little bowls for oil and balsamic vinegar to dip your bread in! We love doing this, especially when some Brie is involved so can’t wait to use this!

photo 3(11)

Rosies Kitchen Fork Knives – seriously. I think these were my favourite present (which my mum wasn’t happy about considering how spoilt I was ha!) They are so cute! I can’t cope with them. They are from Boots, but unfortunately are sold out online but check your local store and try and nab some. They really are beautiful.

Cosmetic Organizer – from my sister! Literally can’t wait to move into my new house and organise my dressing table! Don’t worry, photos will be shared!

River Cottage Every day Veg Cookery Book – I always get a cookery book from L’s parents each year and I love this! Its full of amazing idea’s on how to make veg more interesting (which even the most healthy of us need sometimes!), let me know if you are interested in seeing some recipes!

Yankee Candle in Vanilla Cupcake & Winterwood Candle – I love candles, especially this time of year. It makes the house smell beautiful and look more homely! I got these from my parents/ L’s parents and I can’t wait to try them out!

Owl Related Presents (everyone thought it was funny to get Annie & I owl presents – obvs we agreed)

photo 2(19)

Orla Kiely Owl Mug – from the mother in law! Isn’t this amazing!

Owl Mug and Owl Dashboard Toy – our friend Spen bought both of us these! I am waiting until I find the Owl dashboard thing less funny before I put it up else I’ll find it too distracting to drive. Love it.

Owl Candle Holder – you know you are getting a great present when Annie says “I have bought you the worst and yet the best present ever!” and she was right! She painted this for me at our local pottery place! It’s disgusting and I bloody love it. Pride of place on my coffee table!

Random Fun Stuff

photo 4(7)

Burgundy Vans – I have ruined mine by wearing them whilst doing my new house up (seriously… they used to be white and are now black) so my lovely parents bought me a new pair!

Glittery Jumper – I am not sure where this is from, but I believe Annie got me it from the Clothes Show! I love it! Perfect for this time of year, and its such a lovely thin material – perfect for shopping etc when you get too hot and cba to remove layers!

Walking Dead Season 1 – fav present from L! So scared of Zombies but can’t wait to watch this!

Emma Bridgewater Diary – another present from L. Last year I asked him to pick me up a new diary as I needed one, so he brought home the most disgusting one he could find. It is pink velour or something, so he bought me a nice one this year to make up for it!

Alphabet Bags make up bag – my work bestie bought me this! Annie has wanted one for ages so she is super jealous! Can’t wait to use it!

So there we go… can you see why I am splitting it into two posts now?! Crazy eh? I have been so spoilt and I just want to say a massive thank you to everyone for the lovely (and funny) presents! What did you guys get this year? #twolittleowls

Merry Christmas!!!! Blogmas 25!

A & C: merry Christmas lovelies! We hope you have all had an amazing day and have been as spoilt as we have!

IMG_1910.JPG

We are now chilling together with a glass of prosecco and will be cracking out the cheese and b’s soon! We will start posting our Christmas hauls from tomorrow and we can’t wait to share them with you! Merry Christmas again! #twolittleowls

Chloe’s December Empties!

C: Another month of empties for you today! I’m glad you are all enjoying these as much as I enjoy writing them/using up my stash! We received so much positive feedback last month, so thank you so much! So anyway… enough of the soppy-ness. Lets get cracking.

photo-30

1. No7 Speed Dry Nail Colour in Grey Skies 2 – now you guys may know that I love No7! I think they are so under appreciated, I love their skincare, make up and nail polishes (I may accidentally have a very large collection). I am sad to see this beauty go, dark grey is one of my favourite nail looks as it is just so sophisticated and suits any occasion. The formula is also easy to apply nicely, doesn’t chip for a good few days and is generally lovely.

Repurchase? Definitely if they still do this colour!

2. Eyeko Liquid Eyeliner in Black – so much hype around this product for seemingly no reason! Apparently its Alexa Chungs favourite eye liner, which is lovely for her as she is rich and can afford to buy a new one each week! This literally dries out and becomes unusable in days. Combine that with a difficult to apply formula that is very faint on my lids… not a winner for me!

Repurchase? no!

3. N. 4 Lumiere D’Hiver Super Comb Prep + Protect – a sample I received in my Birchbox that I was looking forward to trying but wasn’t amazed by. It does help detangle my hair, and helped to reduce frizz but I just couldn’t stand the scent! I wouldn’t even know how to describe it to you all… but its a strange smell for a beauty product anyway!

Repurchase? I much prefer my Beauty Protector Detangler so no!

4. Weleda Oat Replenishing Shampoo – another Birchbox sample that was super handy to keep in my swimming bag! I really enjoyed this, but as I have so much hair it only lasted for two washes, so I really couldn’t comment on any large difference it made to my hair. It smelt nice and made my hair feel soft and clean though!

Repurchase? I would have preferred to try the conditioner with the shampoo… but all the same, yes. I would happily use this again

A mixed set of reviews today! Have any of you guys tried these products? #twolittleowls

Blogmas 2014 Day 23 – a Christmas make up look!

A: Chloe showed you her Christmas Day make up look here, so it though it was time to show you mine!

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/178/63282436/files/2014/12/img_0156.jpg

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/178/63282436/files/2014/12/img_0126.jpg

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/178/63282436/files/2014/12/img_0159.jpg
Base: I used my usual Mac BB cream and and Bare minerals as a base, after cleansing, toning and moisturising.

Eyes: Naked 2 palette with chopper on the outer corners and bootycall on the innercorners and under my waterline. As usual I went for a winged liner and lots of mascara!

Lips: I used my brand new Sleek Matte Lip Cream in bright red with a red lip gloss.

So what do you guys think of my look? Can’t wait to hear what you think! #twolittleowls

Ps. Annie is drunk so I’m having to write this for her as she tells me what to put! Lolz

Blogmas 2014 Day 22- What does the festive season mean to you?

What does the festive season mean to you?

A: To me, Christmas is all about family. I am really lucky because all of my family live within a 10 minute drive from one another. This means that I get to see every single one of them over the Christmas period, and eat loads of yummy food with them! We each go to each others house for Christmas every year, so my Mum’s side of the family come to ours for a day, we go to theirs for a day, and the same with my Dad’s family. This normally means we have to start the festivities a little early to fit everyone in – especially now we all have partners and their families to think about, but it also means they go on for longer 🙂

C: Similarly to Annie the festive season is all about seeing family and friends. I love getting to see my family even more than usual whilst spending the day spoiling them with gifts and eating lots of yummy food. I also love Christmas time as it means that lots of friends come back who have moved away after uni etc to see their families and I get to see them too! My job also means that I often work over the Christmas period, but I am used to that now and making Christmas special for other people makes me very happy too!

What does this time of year mean to you? #twolittleowlsblog

A #dearsally Christmas OOTD

C: A Christmassy OOTD for you lovelies today! If you saw my #dearsally wishlist (which you can see here) then you may recognise this outfit!

photo(33)

After doing my #dearsally wishlist, the lovelies at Long Tall Sally were kind enough to send me the Christmas day outfit that I had chosen! So here is how it all looks together in real life, I added my favourite tartan scarf just to add to the festiveness as well as a red lip. What do you guys think?

The quality of the clothes is spot on, and I am especially in love with the boots! They are honestly just the perfect Chelsea boots, even L likes them – when normally he just moans I have too many shoes! The jumper is also a beautifully thin material, meaning it is perfect for being at work in those warm offices, or for Christmas shopping as you can look festive without being too hot! #twolittleowls

Blogmas 2014 – Day 21! Sharing Our Christmas Day Plans

Share your day with us

C: I am guessing this means Christmas day plans? Oh well, that is what I am going to tell you about anyway! This year, L and I are staying at home on Christmas Eve (I am picking him up from town when I finish work, so I am guessing he will have had too many egg nogs). We live next door to L’s parents so after opening ours to each other we will go straight there (L’s dad really loves it when I wake them all up early on Christmas day) and do presents/breakfast with them before they drive to Sheffield to see the rest of their family. We are then going to my parentals at about 10 to see my Aunties and Uncles before we do our family presents. We will then have Christmas Dinner and take the obligatory photo of my dad with all the Party Popper streamers on his head (not sure why we do this, obviously a tradition started when I was young and immature). In the evening we will then both be going over to Jim and Annies to do presents/have drinks with our friends! Literally cannot wait!

A: This year my boyfriend and I are heading to my Aunt and Uncles’s first thing. My whole family will be there and my Auntie makes homemade sausage rolls, we drink Bucks Fizz and give our presents out. It’s
Something we’ve done every year since I can remember and it just sums up Christmas for me. For lunch, we are heading to Jim’s dads. His sister is making lunch, and then we will watch DVDs for the rest of the day. In the evening, as Chloe said they are coming to ours with the rest of friends so we can drink snowballs and chill!

What’re your Christmas Day plans? #twolittleowlsblog
