The ultimate child proof make up storage?

C: afternoon! A little DIY job (that I can’t take full credit for) today in the form of make up storage! Now Ivy is partial to a lipstick or ten. Eats them, covers her face on them, basically does everything a tiny human can to ruin my beautiful make up collection. So I made a plan to keep it all safe from her teeny evil hands!

So here we have my humble collection, saved from the beast (love her really) by basically being too high to reach. All I did was get two cheap wooden shelves from Homebase, paint them and add a piece of wood (L did it…) to one of the shelves with some door handles screwed in for scarf and bag hangage (not a word apparently).

Finally I used my acrylic storage and some cute jars that I had saved (that normally sit cluttering up my cupboard with no purpose) for a cheap and simple make up solution!

What do you think?!

A wishful Christmas wish list

C: you ever see something and think OH GOD IM IN LOVE, and then realise that it’s completely unnecessary so you shouldn’t ask for it for Christmas? But secretly you keep thinking about it and wish it was yours? Here is my secret Christmas wish list (in the hope L decides he wants to buy me a lot of extra presents)

David Ayling is a jewellery making genius! I follow him on Facebook and he creates such beautiful pieces, I’m always slightly jelly that I don’t own anything! This ring is my absolute fav, I showed it to L and he said maybe if he gets a bonus in Feb so fingers crossed!!! (On another note, follow DA on Facebook as he also does jewellery making evenings etc. Which are super exciting!)

We then have the Leonore Doc Martens. These are my fave brand for shoes and I already have two pairs (which never wear out so will last forever!) so I don’t NEED these… but I sure as hell would like them! Plus.. fleece lined? Who doesn’t need new winter warm boots?

Thirdly (not a word) we have the Violet Voss Ride or Die palette which is available from beauty bay. I did consider putting this on my list cos you know… just look at it. But I have so many unloved palettes waiting for my attention it seemed silly to get another! Sad face.

Finally we have a Mac Christmas collection of 12 mini lipsticks. Now really, no one needs 12 mini lipsticks but surely everyone wants them? I asked L for these too, and I won’t say what he described them as on here but I’m guessing it’s a no! Alas. I do love miniature things!

So guys, anything you are secretly wishing for for Christmas that is totally unnecessary but super beautiful?! Let me know! Xxx

Ps… obviously I don’t own any of these delights so photos are borrowed from their websites! Any problems and I will remove them for you 🙂

Chloe’s Spring Wishlist!

C: It is super sunny outside at the moment, and although it isnt exactly warm yet it is making me very excited for the coming Summer! So I thought, what better way to celebrate then by putting together a Spring Wishlist, in the hope that some lovely person decides to treat me to all these beautiful things (wishful thinking eh?)!

photo(39)

1. Asos Maternity Skater Dress in Check £28 – okay so most of you are not interested in maternity clothes, but I think we can all appreciate this as a great dress in its own right. I love checked prints, so this would be perfect for the Spring weather, as it would also look great with tights when its a bit chillier!

 2. Clinique Long Last Matte Lipstick £18 – recently Clinique have really upped their make up game and refreshed their lipstick line. I love their skincare so much, but have never been that interested in their make up until seeing these badboys. I think the Matte Petal shade (a super soft, girly pink) would be my first choice for Spring.

 3. Topshop Semi Previous Teardrop Necklace £10 – layering up jewellery is super on trend at the moment, so this necklace is the perfect place to start if you are unsure! I love the green colour, as it would make the perfect contrast to so many outfits.

 4. New Look Tan Leather Woven Sandals £24.99 – my favourite sandals finally died of old age so I had to throw them away at the end of last Summer (booooo) so I have been on the search for the perfect pair. I love the woven effect of these, brown goes with everything AND they slip on, so I dont have to panic that I won’t be able to do my own shoes up soon once super pregnant! Perfect!

So there is what I am currently lusting after, what about you guys? What do you think of my choices? #twolittleowls

A Mini Weekend Haul

A: Okay so I was a little bored and took myself shopping to TK Maxx (our favourite shop ever) today! I was good and didn’t buy too much stuff that I don’t need with money that could definitely be spent on more useful things, but here’s what I did get!

Firstly, this really cute top. I love tops with detail on the back, and this keyhole cut out and ‘v’ shaped split are super cute. Plus I love the vintage print. It’ll be perfect with a navy skirt, tights and boots – or with some skinny jeans. It was £12.99, and fits beautifully.

Another top with detailing on the back, but this one has buttons – another look I can’t refuse. It has such a summery floral print and I love the scalloped hem too. I’m really hankering after some high waisted skinnes for the summer (shock horror, jeans are not something which feature in my wardrobe), and they would look perfect with this and some vans for a dressed down look. This was £6.99 – bargain!

I am well aware that these trousers look hideous, but I really don’t care because I love them. I’m a massive fan of palazzo pants for summer but these have a split in the side of both legs. I’m definitely going to have to tack the splits at my knee or a little higher though cause the split actually doesn’t stop until it gets to the waistband…could quite easily lose any dignity I have left whilst wearing these. They sit just right on my hips though and are super flattering, which is always a winner for me. These were £12.99 and I plan on teaming them with a fitted black tshirt and a statement necklace.

Lastly this cute tray and candle. I can never say no to a candle, especially an Orange Blossom scented one! And this tray was too adorable to not buy, especially for £3.99!!! I love the floral print on it and it’ll be perfect for taking tea and biscuits upstairs for breakfast In bed on the weekends 🙂

What have you guys been buying recently? #twolittleowls

#Loveis A Valentine’s OOTD ft. M&Co

A & C: With Valentine’s Day on it’s way, we’ve put together a V day look using this beautiful Wave Heart Print Cardigan from M&Co.

IMG_5480

IMG_5481
This is priced at £26.00, and has such a cute heart print with gorgeous red buttons – we love it. It’s made from a lovely lightweight knit too so it’s super wearable. Because of this, we are both going to style it in our own way to give you some inspo.

A: I love easy to wear cardigans like this, they can so easily be dressed up or down – but if I was off out for the evening I would team this with my favourite black swing dress, black tights and black chelsea boots. I’d go for a simple gold necklace and small gold hoop earrings – and of course winged eyeliner and red lips using my Sleek Matte Lip Cream. If you can’t wear red lipstick on Valentine’s Day, when can you!

C: normally I prefer a chunkier knit than this (my style isn’t very girly!) but who can say no to such a cute cardi! I would style this with a bright red loose vest top, my black super skinny jeans and my burgundy lace up heeled boots! Perfect for date night at the cinema/out for a meal!

You can find this cardigan by clicking here, and heading to the M and Co site.
We’d like to say a massive thank you to M and Co for this opportunity too, we really enjoyed putting these looks together! If you’d like to head to their blog, just click here!

What do you think to our Valentine’s Day looks? #twolittleowlsblog

A Sunday Sale Haul

A: Today, I went on a shopping trip with my Aunty – we were hunting for outfits and gifts for some events we both have coming up soon, but both got distracted by the sales and ended up having a lovely time. Our local department store had an amazing sale on and I got some real bargains.

IMG_5467
Firstly, this navy patterned dress. It’s from N & Willow – not a brand I’ve heard of before but it’s a simple jersey, beautifully cut dress and will be perfect for work. Although I don’t have a strict dress code for work, I do like to look fairly smart. It’s a lovely thin and comfortable fabric too so I will be able to wear it most of the year, but I think it’ll look best with boots and tights in the winter. This was originally £50 but reduced to £11.50.
This black top is from a brand called ‘Girls On Film’. This looks a lot better on, I promise. The lace trim on the hem dresses up the simple black shift shape and I think it’ll look best with a black tube skirt and some statement jewels (to follow!). Originally £28, reduced to £7.50!

IMG_5469

IMG_5468
I then spotted this amazing/slightly horrendous kimono. I really do love it though, it has sequins, velvet and tassels – what more could you want!! This is from Quiz clothing and I cannot wait to wear it. £35 reduced to £10 – and my aunty got one too! She’s off to a wedding next week during the evening and has a black jumpsuit to wear so this will finish it off perfectly.

IMG_5471

IMG_5472 This blouse is from one of my favourite brands; Vila. I loved going to the shop we got all of these from because they’ve stocked Vila for a while now – but this was the last of their stock as they are discontinuing the line! Sadly I didn’t get there quick enough to make the most of the reduced stock, but this blouse makes up for is because it really is beautiful. Admittedly, it doesn’t look much on the hanger or from the front – but the back is made from a huge pleated voile type fabric and it looks so pretty! I had to have it, and it was reduced to £10.50 from £35 – even better! Another purchase I can’t wait to wear.

IMG_5475

IMG_5473

IMG_5474
Lastly, some jewellery. I can never say no to some new jewels but chokers are a first for me. I really like the idea of them but I think they might make my neck look a bit fat?! I thought I’d take the plunge though because these ones from Miss Selfridge were only £2.50 each, both reduced from £9. They’re really pretty too and both have two parts for them so I actually got four necklaces for £5!
My aunty then found this amazing statement piece from Wallis. This was originally £20 but I got it for just £5! And it’s so pretty too! I wear these sort of colours all the time so it will slot in perfectly to my collection.
Finally, three sets of gold coloured hoops from Miss Selfridge, originally £8 but £2 in the sale. Some perfect staple earrings to wear every day.

So that’s all of my haul for today – I haven’t been shopping in a while, and neither Chloe or I went at all during the sales because we are both trying to save – but I thought I did pretty well today with these bargains so didn’t feel so bad!

What have you been buying in the sales? #twolittleowlsblog

OOTD: mismatching prints

Shirt: Asda
Pinafore Dress: Primark
Shoes: Primark

A: Something a little different today, a work OOTD. I actually work in an office so always have to look smart and presentable – but I never like to look boring. I steer away from suits and structured clothing because they just don’t suit me – I like to let my personality shine through, even if it’s just a little. This is one of my favourite things to wear for work. It’s super comfy, easy to wear and looks smart, and the shirt and dress do not crease at all – perfect. Although when I wear this my boyfriend always ask why I’m wearing my Tetris dress and why I don’t wear it with a shirt that matches. No idea what he is talking about, florals and checks go perfectly well together!

C:I love this outfit! It just shows that you can look smart for work whilst not looking boring, and showing off some personality! I think a lot of people are a little nervous about clashing prints, and this is the perfect way to start. Pick something a darker colour (like this pinafore dress) and then choose a brighter print to go underneath. As long as one of your prints is relatively simple, you can’t go wrong! Let us know if you try it!

What do you think to Annie’s OOTD? #twolittleowlsblog

A Very Lucky Annie number 2!

A: You can see the first part of this post here, as Chloe and I were both super spoilt over the Christmas period, we decided to split up our ‘haul’ posts into a few separate ones – so here’s my second post! We are in no way bragging about the gifts we have received, we just love reading these kinds of posts on other blogs so thought we would share ours with your lovely readers.

I got a really lovely selection of beauty products, some new nail varnishes – Barry M, a Sally Hansen and an Essie, all of which I will be reviewing in the future so keep following! My cousin got me some gorgeous Bare Minerals lip glosses too, which I have had my eye on for a while!
Chloe got me the Zoella Soak Opera which I have been after testing out for ages, and she also got me the Holly Go Lightly bath bomb from Lush as well as the most beautiful highlighter/blush in the world from I ❤️ Make Up. She knows me so well! Lastly in the ‘beauty’ section, my brother and sister-in-law got me the Chanel No.5 body lotion, something I have been lusting after since I tested out my Mum’s a few months ago (see here for my review!) so I was super excited to receive this.

Onto jewellery, my parents got me these beautiful handmade glass earrings from a craft market in Tenerife. And my boyfriend did very well indeed as he got me these pearls, which are beyond precious. I love them so much and can’t wait to wear them and I will treasure them for the rest of my life.

An AMAZING handbag/backpack from my brother and sister-in-law. I start a new job in January and I’m so excited to pack this up and use it. I’m very particular about bags but this one is perfect, I cannot wait to wear it! It’s Jane Shilton, but it came from TK Maxx – I’m not at all bothered by brands, I love this purely because it’s so practical/patent blue with massive gold fastenings!

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/178/63282436/files/2014/12/img_5050.jpg
We have two British Blues and because I’m a crazy cat lady I tend to get a lot of cat related gifts. I love this watch so much, my friend Spen bought me it and it’s hideous/amazing at the same time. I also got this book, and the cat on the front cover look exactly like my cats Bill and Ted!

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/178/63282436/files/2014/12/img_5032.jpg Another cat related present, but it is so very true ❤️.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/178/63282436/files/2014/12/img_5041.jpg
We also get a lot of campervan related gifts because we have a campervan! This amazing crocheted bag is from my mum and was made by my auntie, she is a genius when it comes to knitting and crocheting – it’s amazing isn’t it!! A lovely campervan moneybox too, to help us save our pennies for how holidays. And a super cute campervan case from my beautiful cousin, which I will be using as a pencil case for my new job!

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/178/63282436/files/2014/12/img_5060.jpgAnd lastly for now, a beautiful faux fur leopard print coat from my lovely aunt and uncle. I CANNOT get enough of this, it’s from Red Herring and feels beautiful to wear. I can guarantee it’ll be in a lot of ootds! An amazing tartan scarf which was actually featured in my Christmas wishlist – well done to my cousin on this one! It’s from ASOS and it’s so cosy! I don’t even care that they totally don’t match, I’m more than happy to wear them at the same time. It’s normal to want to wear all of your Christmas presents at once isn’t it? And finally, these gorgeous Cath Kidston earrings with emerald green colour stones. They are so special, I’ve been wearing them every day since Christmas 🙂

Sorry for the super long post guys, but I hope you enjoyed reading and being nosey! What did you get for Christmas? #twolittleowlsblog
