Chloe’s Spring Wishlist!

C: It is super sunny outside at the moment, and although it isnt exactly warm yet it is making me very excited for the coming Summer! So I thought, what better way to celebrate then by putting together a Spring Wishlist, in the hope that some lovely person decides to treat me to all these beautiful things (wishful thinking eh?)!

photo(39)

1. Asos Maternity Skater Dress in Check £28 – okay so most of you are not interested in maternity clothes, but I think we can all appreciate this as a great dress in its own right. I love checked prints, so this would be perfect for the Spring weather, as it would also look great with tights when its a bit chillier!

 2. Clinique Long Last Matte Lipstick £18 – recently Clinique have really upped their make up game and refreshed their lipstick line. I love their skincare so much, but have never been that interested in their make up until seeing these badboys. I think the Matte Petal shade (a super soft, girly pink) would be my first choice for Spring.

 3. Topshop Semi Previous Teardrop Necklace £10 – layering up jewellery is super on trend at the moment, so this necklace is the perfect place to start if you are unsure! I love the green colour, as it would make the perfect contrast to so many outfits.

 4. New Look Tan Leather Woven Sandals £24.99 – my favourite sandals finally died of old age so I had to throw them away at the end of last Summer (booooo) so I have been on the search for the perfect pair. I love the woven effect of these, brown goes with everything AND they slip on, so I dont have to panic that I won’t be able to do my own shoes up soon once super pregnant! Perfect!

So there is what I am currently lusting after, what about you guys? What do you think of my choices? #twolittleowls

A Very Lucky Annie number 2!

A: You can see the first part of this post here, as Chloe and I were both super spoilt over the Christmas period, we decided to split up our ‘haul’ posts into a few separate ones – so here’s my second post! We are in no way bragging about the gifts we have received, we just love reading these kinds of posts on other blogs so thought we would share ours with your lovely readers.

I got a really lovely selection of beauty products, some new nail varnishes – Barry M, a Sally Hansen and an Essie, all of which I will be reviewing in the future so keep following! My cousin got me some gorgeous Bare Minerals lip glosses too, which I have had my eye on for a while!
Chloe got me the Zoella Soak Opera which I have been after testing out for ages, and she also got me the Holly Go Lightly bath bomb from Lush as well as the most beautiful highlighter/blush in the world from I ❤️ Make Up. She knows me so well! Lastly in the ‘beauty’ section, my brother and sister-in-law got me the Chanel No.5 body lotion, something I have been lusting after since I tested out my Mum’s a few months ago (see here for my review!) so I was super excited to receive this.

Onto jewellery, my parents got me these beautiful handmade glass earrings from a craft market in Tenerife. And my boyfriend did very well indeed as he got me these pearls, which are beyond precious. I love them so much and can’t wait to wear them and I will treasure them for the rest of my life.

An AMAZING handbag/backpack from my brother and sister-in-law. I start a new job in January and I’m so excited to pack this up and use it. I’m very particular about bags but this one is perfect, I cannot wait to wear it! It’s Jane Shilton, but it came from TK Maxx – I’m not at all bothered by brands, I love this purely because it’s so practical/patent blue with massive gold fastenings!

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/178/63282436/files/2014/12/img_5050.jpg
We have two British Blues and because I’m a crazy cat lady I tend to get a lot of cat related gifts. I love this watch so much, my friend Spen bought me it and it’s hideous/amazing at the same time. I also got this book, and the cat on the front cover look exactly like my cats Bill and Ted!

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/178/63282436/files/2014/12/img_5032.jpg Another cat related present, but it is so very true ❤️.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/178/63282436/files/2014/12/img_5041.jpg
We also get a lot of campervan related gifts because we have a campervan! This amazing crocheted bag is from my mum and was made by my auntie, she is a genius when it comes to knitting and crocheting – it’s amazing isn’t it!! A lovely campervan moneybox too, to help us save our pennies for how holidays. And a super cute campervan case from my beautiful cousin, which I will be using as a pencil case for my new job!

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/178/63282436/files/2014/12/img_5060.jpgAnd lastly for now, a beautiful faux fur leopard print coat from my lovely aunt and uncle. I CANNOT get enough of this, it’s from Red Herring and feels beautiful to wear. I can guarantee it’ll be in a lot of ootds! An amazing tartan scarf which was actually featured in my Christmas wishlist – well done to my cousin on this one! It’s from ASOS and it’s so cosy! I don’t even care that they totally don’t match, I’m more than happy to wear them at the same time. It’s normal to want to wear all of your Christmas presents at once isn’t it? And finally, these gorgeous Cath Kidston earrings with emerald green colour stones. They are so special, I’ve been wearing them every day since Christmas 🙂

Sorry for the super long post guys, but I hope you enjoyed reading and being nosey! What did you get for Christmas? #twolittleowlsblog

Annie’s Autumn Fashion Wishlist

A: Following Chloe’s wishlist last week, I’ve created a wishlist with all of my Autumn favourites. I love jumpers, knitwear, woolly tights and boots so this is my favourite time of year (well almost, technically it should still be sunny in September but its pouring with rain as I type this).

cesia_front

Louche Cesia Floral Dress – originally £55 but just £20 in the sale from Joy the Store

I really love this dress and cannot believe what a bargain it is. It is a little summery for Autumn, but team it with a bright knit and some navy woolly tights and I’d be good to go. I think it would be super wearable and the print is just too pretty to resist.

dovana_mustard_fr2

Louche Dovanna Jumper – £42 from Joy the Store

This is from the same site as the floral dress (you really need to go check it out, I basically want to buy everything from there), and I LOVE it. I love layering jumpers over dresses, and this would look so good with the floral dress I’ve chosen. It is a little on the pricey side, but it definitely counts as an investment.

35309668_435x435

Helen Berman Maribo Cable Knit Beanie – £40 from Urban Outfitters

A hat in an Autumn wishlist is a must, and this beanie is amazing. Again, it is a little pricey but I love it. So that’s totally allowed.

Road Trip Suede Desert Boots – £55 from ASOS

I’ve been after some boots in this style for so long and I love these so much. Perfect for dressing up an outfit or everyday wear.

*Obviously as I (unfortunately) do not own these items, these photos are from the companies websites 🙂

Chloe’s Autumn Fashion Wishlisht

C: I know, I know… it is still August/Summer and we should still be sunning it up in our bikinis and shorts. Unfortunately it is cold and rainy here so I got excited and created my Autumn wish list! I love this time of year, especially in terms of fashion. Cardigans and bobble hats as well as being snuggled up in bed with a hot chocolate – what more could you want! So here are my four top fashion picks for the coming season:

photo-19

*Obviously as I (unfortunately) do not own these items, these photos are from the companies websites 🙂

Urban Renewal Vintage Surplus Beanie Hat in Olive – £12 from Urban Outfitters. I love woolly hats and way too many. I do not have one in this amazing Olive colour though which is perfect for Autumn. I definitely need this. Especially to go with my new hair.

Pins & Needles Chenille Tassle Kimono in Plum – £48 from Urban Outfitters. Knitted AND has tassels?! I haven’t got a maroon/plum coloured cardigan (kimono if you are a grown up) and it is one of my favourite colours! This is perfect for adding to just jeans and a tshirt to add some style or over a dress as I would wear it.

Dr Martens Castel Boots in Cherry Red – £100 from Dr Marten. I love Dr Martens and have wanted some for years! Then everyone started wearing them and I got put off. However, I love this pair so much I NEEEED them. A black pair would be more sensible… but as I hate stuff matching I would wear these with pretty much everything anyway.

People Tree Organic Cotton Smock Dress In Check Print – £65 from Asos. This dress is the perfect shape to flatter my figure. I would wear this with tights, boots and a cardigan (so probably everything else mentioned in this wish list) as the perfect Autumn dress.

I hope you guys have enjoyed reading my wish list as much as I did making it! If it wasn’t for buying a house next week… I would have bought all of these already! Let me know what you think! #twolittleowls

Annie’s Holiday Wish List: Part 1

A: So as i’m sure you’ve noticed (because I’m SO excited!) I am off on holiday soon, and I’ve been trawling the internet to find some holiday goodies. There’s so many new things that I obviously need to buy that I thought I’d do them in two parts; my clothes and accessories wish list today, and my beauty wish list in Part 2.

Image

Top of the list is this amazing swimsuit. I’ve already got a couple of bikinis ready to pack but I though I had better find something for those days where I’ve eaten too much and need to hide the belly. I love this Ferdinand Monokini, it covers all the right places and I’m not particularly blessed in the boob department so the fringing on this will be perfect for me. I found this on Asos for £52.00.

I love a good hat and I’m so pale and pasty that I burn really easily so this Accessorize sun hat is a must have for me – £25.00.

Holiday footwear is always a bit of a problem for me. I am super picky because I HATE toeposts and my massive cankles mean I have to be really careful with ankle straps. Once I’ve found a pair I love, I pretty much wear them to death and I spotted these in Topshop the other day  – I think I’m onto a winner with them. They are made from really soft leather and will be perfect for the evenings with either a maxi dress or a shorter dress. A bargain too, they are only £30.00.

I’m loving the whole 90’s vibe that’s going on at the minute, including the jelly shoes! It is a little scary though, cosidering I’m only 24 and the things I used to wear are coming back round again! I love this 90’s twin set from Ark. It looks great together or it can be worn as separates – it’s so versatile! £19.99.

What are your holiday must haves? #twolittleowls

Annie’s Spring Wishlist

A: I have spent so much time lusting after lovely Spring buys this last week (bring on payday!) that I thought I should share some of my favourites with you.

Image

1. I love the swing dress trend – and I know a strappy dress like this is optimistic for Spring, but hey, I can always layer it up. I love the colours in this one from ASOS. The rose pink hues and floral print are perfect for this time of year, and ASOS are offering 25% off dresses at the minute! Find it here for £26.00.

2. As you’ve probably guessed, I have a big thing for rose gold. I’ve been looking for a pretty watch for ages, but they all seem to have bulky straps – and these just don’t suit me. This one is perfect though, and a steal from River Island for just £28.00.

3. I probably already own about a billion pairs of sunglasses, but you just can’t have too many can you? These are Cheap Moday – the best place to buy them is from Urban Outfitters, the link will take you straight to them if you love them as much as me – and they are only £25.00! A perfect addition to any Spring wardrobe (and they will go perfectly with the ASOS dress!)

4. Sandals are my favourite type of footwear I think, although I do have an age old problem with cankles so I avoid any with an ankle strap. These  Deena and Ozzy Ballerina Flats are perfect to take you from Spring to Summer because they can be worn with or without tights. They are leather too so will last a while, and are another Urban Outfitters find – £38.00.

Chloe will be posting her Spring Wishlist soon so keep following! #twolittleowls

The Cape Trend

A: The Cape Trend is going to be massive this Spring, they are everywhere and the celebs are loving them too – Kelly Osbourne and Kate Hudson both wore beautiful cape dresses at the Oscar Awards last week, check out our post with pictures of their dresses here.

I’ve trawled the world wide web to give you some of my favourite cape trends, which are a little bit more affordable than the celeb versions…

Image

This Miss Selfridge chiffon top would be a perfect addition to any wardrobe, it can be dressed up with a skirt, heels and some statement jewels, or dressed down with skinnies.

Image

There are so many cape jackets and coats, but this Mango Military version was my favourite. The military embellishments make it a little more unique compared to other capes – and its in the sale at ASOS for £67.50!

Image

This cape blouse from boohoo is ideal for spring – with its pretty pastels it can be teamed with anything, and can be worn buttoned up or left open for two different looks.

Image

This is a little more pricey but it is DKNY and its dress perfection. The cheapest I could find it was £259 – but it’s totally worth it!

Have you purchased any on trend capes? #twolittleowls

For the love of tartan.

Image

C: I know its currently fashionable and “on-trend” to wear tartan; but I have to admit that I’ve always loved it. Cool or not, tartan is the perfect winter statement, which looks beautiful in vintage, old-country style homes (which being country girls, means this is what we absolutely love and are used too!) This picture shows some of mine and Annie’s favourite tartan items, from vintage style cushions to dresses and handbags. So just for you lucky readers, we have scoured the internet for our favourite tartan items to share with you.

So firstly, the tartan handbag from the picture (the current love of my life) is now on sale here reduced from £59.00 to £29.50, and the scarf underneath the other items is from accessorize for only £19! We then picked our tartan wishlist, where we are both in love with these Topshop trousers, which are perfect for Winter days, paired with boots, a cosy jumper and scarf! We then picked: midi dress, a shift dress, a vintage skirt and a playsuit!

For a country-style, vintage theme around the house Annie has collected the cushions shown in the picture since moving house a year ago. So keep your eye out when shopping and see what bargains you can also pick up!
