The Starting Over Tag

C: now I didn’t actually get tagged to do this, but saw this on Katies Blog (Plus+Beauty), and thought it was a great idea! Basically, you have to pick 16 products that you would first re-buy if you lost all of your make up collection – the perfect post for someone that is new to make up and wants to start a capsule collection of the essentials! I have tried to include a mixture of drugstore and higher end products, and haven’t included brushes etc just make up, so lets get started:

1. Rimmel BB Cream in Matte – a bb cream is an essential in my make up bag now, for those days when a full face of make up isn’t necessary. For the drugstore price, this is perfect! It covers imperfections and doesn’t irritate my skin. Perfect for any bb cream/foundation newbie (it does need a setting powder though!) (Check out my previous review here)

2. Mac Matchmaster Foundation – my current favourite foundation that is one of the only ones I have ever repurchased. Although expensive compared to some, this lasts absolutely ages and I love using it.

3. Benefit boi-ing Concealer – another repurchase here for me. This is too thick for me all the time, but when I am having a break out I cannot cope without this. It literally covers anything and everything, and lasts all day.

4. Benefit Professional Primer – probably not an essential for other people who do not have problem pores, but it is for me on a night out/occasion. I don’t use this every day, but it really does help create a flawless base and make up lasts much longer. (For a full review click here)

5. ELF High Definition Powder – I wasn’t sure on this when I first bought it, as if you use too much you end up with a white moon face. But now I have got the hang of it I love it. Seriously. Love. It sets my foundations perfectly and keeps shine/make up slip at bay all day!

6. ELF Eyebrow Kit – now I will be honest, this is the only eyebrow product I have ever tried, but it works so well I have never felt inclined to try any others. Sister in law assures me it is comparable to Benefits Browzings at a fraction of the price, perfect.

7. Benefits Hoola Bronzer – another blogger favourite, that is perfect for pale skin. Easy to blend, not orange and gives a lovely contour. I have been using the sample size in the photo for about a year now, and still haven’t hit pan, so it is well worth the investment!

8. The Balms Mary Lou Manizer Highlighter – another cult beauty product that I also love! Gives a beauty glow that lasts all day – review here if you are interested!

9. Mac Blusher in Stay Pretty – it was hard to pick a blusher, but I love all the ones I have tried from Mac and I think this is my favourite colour. It is so girly and pink, but looks super natural if blended well.

10. Benefit Stay Don’t Stray Eyeshadow Primer – never thought I would be the type of person to have an eyeshadow primer on my essentials list! But seriously, this is some good stuff. It enhances the colour/pigmentation of your eyeshadow, reduces creasing and makes it last longer.

11. Rimmel Eyeliner – I don’t have a favourite eyeliner, but I always have a black one to hand, and normally buy them from Rimmel, Cheap and do the job.

12. Rimmel Glameyes Liquid Eyeliner – super black, easy to apply and I am not allergic like I am to most other liquid liners. This is a constant repurchase for me, and I am not sure what I would do if they discontinued it!

13. Urban Decay, Naked Basics Palettes – its UD and a neutral palette. Enough said when compiling an essentials list.

14. Benefit They’re Real Mascara – another product I have previously reviewed and love. Click here if you want to have a read!

15. Model Co Lipstick in Kitty – my favourite every day lipstick. It is super comfortable on the lips, lasts a long time and is perfect for any occasion. This lipstick sparked off my love of lipsticks!

16. MUA lipstick in Shade 01 – a capsule make up collection is not complete until you have a nice red lipstick in there. This costs £1 and is the biggest bargain ever for such a beautiful lip colour.

So there are my essentials! Any you agree/disagree with? Would love to hear! #twolittleowls

Annie’s Favourite Eyeshadow! Ft. Urban Decay

A: Now, I am a bit of a newbie to eyeshadows. I always really struggled because I had never worn them so when I did try them out, I looked like a 5 year old wearing my mum’s make up! But after a lot of practice, I think I have found my ‘signature’ eyeshadow look and I’d love to know what you guys think!

My current go to shadows are from the Naked 2 Palette from Urban Decay; Chopper and Snakebite (4th and 6th from the left). I apply my usual everyday make up (which you can see here, but I had just got back from Jamaica when I posted that so I was SUPER freckly…). I then move onto my eyes, and apply an eyeshadow primer to start, usually my Benefit Stay Don’t Stray. I then apply chopper all over my lid and pack it on above my lash line. The Urban Decay brush that comes with this palette is perfect for this! Chopper is such a beautiful colour, copper with loads of shimmer and gold undertones. I take it along my lower lash line too, and into the inner corners. I then apply Snakebite to my upper lash line and pack it on to the outer corners, and take it along the outer corners of my lower lash line. This colour is perfect for defining your lash line. Then it’s blend blend blend. Once I’m happy with the shadow, I curl my lashes and apply my Body Builder Mascara from the Balm Cosmetics (my all time favourite mascara!). So here’s the finished look…

What do you think? If you have any tips about colours which would suit me, please let me know!! #twolittleowlsblog

Blogmas 2014 Day 23 – a Christmas make up look!

A: Chloe showed you her Christmas Day make up look here, so it though it was time to show you mine!

Base: I used my usual Mac BB cream and and Bare minerals as a base, after cleansing, toning and moisturising.

Eyes: Naked 2 palette with chopper on the outer corners and bootycall on the innercorners and under my waterline. As usual I went for a winged liner and lots of mascara!

Lips: I used my brand new Sleek Matte Lip Cream in bright red with a red lip gloss.

So what do you guys think of my look? Can’t wait to hear what you think! #twolittleowls

Ps. Annie is drunk so I’m having to write this for her as she tells me what to put! Lolz

An epic haul week!

C: as I have been saving recently hauls have been non existent! So apparently all of that saving has led up to a massive haul and lots of new treats! Here is what I have been buying:

So these little beauties were bought in 2 sittings (which makes it more acceptable). First up I had some Birchbox points to spend and had a 20% off code as a birthday treat! So I ordered a models own set of tweezers as mine have disappeared and I keep having to wait until I get to Annie’s before I can pluck my monobrow. I also picked up the benefit Boi-ing concealer and the chacha balm. I have only just started trying these but first impressions are amazing!

Feel Unique then decided to mess with my bank balance by having a massive sale. I finally gave in and ordered the Urban Decay Basics Palette. It took me ages to decide which palette to get, but as I want all of them I figured I had better start with the basics! I also saw that the Vintage Cosmetics Company brushes and had to have one. The precision brush seemed pretty apt for my non existent eye lids so I went for that! Both of these for £19 with my birthday coupon!!

Anyway I shall stop waffling, have any of you guys tried these products? Can’t wait to review them all for you! #twolittleowlsblog

The Seven Deadly Sins of Beauty Tag!

C: So we are a bit late on this one… but it looked like fun so had to give it a go!

1. GREED: What is your most inexpensive beauty item? What is your most expensive?

The cheapest item I own would have to be the MUA Lipstick in Shade 1 (a deep red) which was only £1. Most expensive would probably be my Dior Palette which I reviewed here which costs about £35 I think… it was so expensive I am scared to use it!

2. WRATH: What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with?

Primers. I love how they make my make up look but I hate how much they clog my pores! We will be doing a primer review soon so keep an eye out for that!

3. GLUTTONY: What are your most delicious beauty products?

I am a major sucker for anything that smells sweet or of vanilla. I absolutely love my Laura Mercier Ambre Vanille body butter or anything from Soap & Glory!

4. SLOTH: What beauty product do you neglect due to laziness?

I am terrible at being lazy with my beauty regime! I go through phases of being super motivated and then I kind of give up?! Until I buy a new treat that starts the whole cycle off again… but probably hair masks. I have a lot of hair so they really help keep it in condition, but usually this is due to a lack of time rather than laziness!

5. PRIDE: What beauty product gives you the most confidence?

Probably my liquid eye liner/mascara. I have really small eyes so I look ridiculous without these! Other than those essentials I would say a nice bold lip colour.

6. LUST: What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite sex?

Confusing/seemingly unrelated question?! I would have to say a sense of humour. Which is so cliche, but I really do think its important. Life is stressful, you at least want someone to laugh about it with.

7. ENVY: What items would you most like to receive as a gift?

Ooh! I have just started my birthday wishlist! I would love: UD Naked1 Palette, Mac eyeshadow – Woodwinked, any/all Mac lipsticks, Real Techniques Make up brushes! (If anyone fancies buying presents/sending this to the boyfriend then feel free, he ignores hints!)

Hope you guys enjoyed that! Please do take part if you have time, as I would love to read all of your responses/answers! #twolittleowlsblog

March Beauty and Fashion Wish Lists!

A & C: We can’t believe how quickly February has flown by… but happy March everyone! Although we are hoping for some lovely Spring weather, we aren’t getting our hopes up too much so we have compiled our March wish lists to cheer us up instead!

Chloe’s Wishlist:

1. Boohoo Jenny Clip Buckle Block Heel Ankle Boot £30 – name is a bit of a mouthful, but these are just what I am looking for. If you have seen any of our recent OOTD posts then Annie has some similar to these and they instantly make any outfit look more dressed up.

2. Mac Lipstick in Rebel £15 – not an amazing picture of this, it is actually more purpley? Apparently this shade suits anyone that dares to wear it… so I am looking forward to finding out if thats true! I also have a lot of Mac make-up but no lipsticks, a problem that needs rectifying ASAP.

3. Urban Decay Palette £37 – finally available at http://www.feelunique.com. I haven’t got any of these blogger favourited palettes yet so thought I had better start my collection with the first!

4. River Island Black Tartan Contrast Collar Skater Dress £25 – an online exclusive that needs adding to my tartan collection! Would look amazing with black tights and the boohoo boots!

Annie’s Wishlist:

1. Asos Leather Doctors Bag, currently on sale for £60! The perfect sized bag for work and shopping!

2. River Island Navy Chelsea girl Daisy Polka Dot Midi Dress £25 – I am super excited for Spring, and I think this amazing print dress would be perfect to see me into (hopefully) hot Summer days.

3. Nails Inc Leather Effect Nail Varnish £12 – I love trying new nail effects and polishes and black is one of my favourite nail colours as it goes with everything!

4. Black shoes from House of Fraiser £69 – every girl needs a pair of classic black flats in their life and these are a sophisticated version that are a bit different.

What do you think of our March wish lists? Is there anything in particular that you are lusting after this month? #twolittleowlsblog
