A good post day!

C & A: We got our previously mentioned E.L.F Comestics in the post today, which we were very excited about! We love post! So we thought we would share some pictures and our first impressions!

Image

We placed our order on Tuesday night and it was delivered this morning, which we thought was really quick delivery! The packaging all co-ordinates really well and is appropriate for the product inside – no spillages or accidents during delivery! We were really pleased with all our items, the colours we picked were lovely but we would recommend googling the colours/items as the swatches that are online are not very accurate. Once we have tested them all out, we will do a more detailed review, but first impressions are great! I was really pleased with my powder and concealers, they blend really well but I dont know yet how long they last, and Annie was really pleased with her lipstick colours and formulas. Remember there is currently a 40% off sale that we mentioned in our previous post here. #twolittleowlsblog

Winter Nails!

C: This horrible winter weather (rain!) is not looking like its going to end any time soon, so we thought we would share with you our favourite winter nail colours/varnishes to cheer up your day! So even if it is horrible outside, atleast your nails look nice?!

Image

In winter, I tend to stick to darker colours like navy, a deep red and black as well as nudes and golds. I’m not sure why, but both me and Annie agreed that these are the colours for winter and brighter colours for the summer months! However, we cant just have boring dark coloured nails all winter, so here are our favourite Winter themed glitter nail varnishes to add too those colours for more sparkle and excitement!

Image

We use these to add sparkle to either all our nails, or just one statement finger. Stay tuned for our nail art posts, as we are scheduling our next one in for the weekend! Accessorize your newly manicured hands with a bold statement ring and some midi-rings (I just got some amazing ones from matalan – bargain!) for that perfect Winter look. #twolittleowlsblog

Soap and Glory: A Review

Image

C: I absolutely love Soap and Glory products, I have been using them for over 3 years now since I got my first gift set for Christmas. I love the beautiful packing and most of the time the product inside matches up to its beautiful exterior. I received a ridiculous amount this Christmas, including several products that I had not used before so I thought a review was in order. I also received so much I could give some to Annie so she could try them and give her opinions as well (yes, I know. I’m probably the best friend ever). I could go on and on about Soap and Glory, so we decided to cut it as short as possible and only include our favourite products and any problems that we encountered. So my favourite product is the Sugar Crush shower gel:

Image

Its fresh limey/sweet scent is amazing and definitely my favourite out of all the different shower gel/moisturiser lines Soap and Glory do. However, I do think its a more summery smell so I have had to force myself to stop using it so I can save it for the sunshine (if we get any so maybe I shouldn’t bother!). It is also very moisturising, and although I have really sensitive skin I have never had a reaction to it or any of their other products. My only negative review of all the products I have tried is that I received a pump version of the Butter Yourself body moisturiser and the pump/bottle is awful. Only a tiny amount comes out at a time, and as I get dry skin and use a lot of moisturiser it takes me forever! it does still smell amazing and sink in quickly though so I shall let them off, just this once. I shall be purchasing some of the Soap and Glory skincare soon, as I have only tried their cleanser so I am really interested to see if their skincare range (Scrubatomic!) is as good as their other products!

A: Okay, so you’re probably all going to be really shocked but I have never used any Soap and Glory products. I know, I know, but I am kind of new to this whole beauty thing (Chloe teaching me the ways of beauty perfection was one of the inspirations behind starting our blog). I was pretty impressed when she let me have some of her extra travel sized versions of stuff she already had. But at the time, I didn’t have any idea how nice Soap and Glory is to use!! There was a massive hype about it and now I know why. Everything is nice to use and has really lovely fresh scents, but my favourite product is the ‘The Scrub of your Life’.

This smells amazing and is such a good exfoliator, and the best part for me is that it didn’t give me dry skin, which I was expecting! I have really sensitive skin anyway so I was really dubious about using the range, I normally stick to products which have no added scents or colours but I had no problems at all with Soap and Glory.

The only thing I didn’t like was the body butter – I thought it was way too greasy so was a bit disappointed. But, I’m not a fan of body butters anyway, Chloe loves them and the Soap and Glory one is one of her favourites! #twolittleowls

Busy day today!!

A: We are both pretty manic today so to keep you followers happy, here’s a picture of my cat Ted.

You’ll probably be seeing a lot of him and his brother Bill in the future, just because they are both massive posers (and I’m a crazy cat lady!)

Enjoy! #twolittleowls

The Grammys 2014

A&C: We all like to have a look at what the celebs are wearing so we decided to show your our favourite and not so favourite outfits from the Grammys this year!

So we have to admit, we aren’t sure of the inspiration behind these three outfits…

Image

Madonna’s androgynous look isn’t her best, don’t get us wrong we are all for tailored suits BUT with some feminine accessories and styling!

Paris Hilton looks like she’s ready to walk down the aisle, not the red carpet! We like that you’ve toned down on the trashiness but maybe this was a step too far…

And Lorde, new girl on the block. We LOVE your music but were you trying to channel Bellatrix Lestrange? The make-up is gorgeous, statement lips with a natural complexion is so on trend right now but the witch costume is not!

But we did lovee these three…

Image

We are not usually a big Taylor Swift fan, but her dress was elegant (and glittery) and fitted beautifully. Beyonce is… Beyonce, no comments needed! And Carey Mulligan shows us all how to do chic and stylish in this androgynous yet still feminine outfit.

And the winner is..

Image

Alexa Chung!

She looked as on trend and lovely as ever in this feminine and amazing dress! The simple hair and red lipstick finished the look and made the whole outfit look more sophisticated.

An accidental shopping trip!

photo-1

C: So after a day stuck in the apartment doing uni work (drinking coffee and reading blogs) I got such bad cabin fever I make the rookie mistake of popping into town. I might have spend money but I got some bargains so I was really pleased, and I met Annie after work for a quick catch up/shop too! So heres what I got:

1. Maroon ankle boots from new look. Ive wanted some like these for ages, and they were in the sale too, so a bargain at £22.49! They are perfect boots for going out in winter as they keep your feet warm and they are a good heel height too!

2. MUA lipstick in Shade 1. For £1 at Superdrug I couldnt resist, and I’ve read so many blogs where people are raving about these! My first impressions are also good, I’ve only tried it on once and it was a lovely light formula with good pigmentation, and lasted a long time. Unfortunately its not quite the shade I wanted, I was looking for a darker red but thats my fault not the lipsticks!

3. Large ring, £2 in the sale at Superdrug. Another bargain I couldnt resist, I love statement jewellery.

4. B. Pure Micellar Water, currently better than half price at £2.47. I picked this up on a whim as I have recently tried Bioderma through Birchbox and wanted to see if the cheaper, highstreet versions compare. I have only tried this once, and it did hurt my eyes even though it is apparently for sensitive skin but this may be due to lack of sleep! So I shall report back and do a single review for any items that I test and think are good! #twolittleowlsblog
