Summer Love Tag

The beautiful Scarlet at Anxiously Bold tagged us for this and we thought it would be really fun to do, so here goes!

1. Summer lipstick you’re loving?

C: Mac in Creme Cup – Annie got me it for my birthday and I love it so much!

A: Revlon in Peach 075 (see it in our haul here)

2. Summer nail polish you’re loving?
C: Models Own scented nail polish in “Grape” is the perfect Summer pastel lilac. I also love Annie’s choice too!

A: Soigne polish in Persimmon, another review here from us -but it really is the best nail polish!

3. Bikini you’re loving?
C:I haven’t been on holiday this year (apart from our long weekend glamping) so haven’t worn any bikinis!

A: I took this bikini top from Topshop on holiday this year – it’s so so comfy and flattering, and I wore it with leopard print bottoms.

4. Favourite summer frappuccino from Starbucks?
C: I don’t really go to Starbucks… but if I did I prefer sweet flavours. So probably a caramel or vanilla one!

A: I don’t drink coffee – but I am loving Costa’s Strawberries and Cream coolers. Amazing.

5. Favourite fake tan?
C: I don’t normally fake tan, I’m happy with my ghost like skin. However, after actually going outside this year, I did get some dodgy tan marks that I used gradual tanners on to cover up. I tired the St Tropez Gradual Tan and the Nip + Fab 365 Body Glow Fix and was suprised/impressed with both of them.

A: Erm I don’t fake tan. I’m super pale/practically blue and the thought of slathering myself in something orange is just not appealing – esp as I have really orange hair.

6. Favourite summer song?
C: Obviously “Summertime” by Will Smith!

A:I love West Coast by Lana Del Rey

7. Favourite summer accessories?

C: My sunglasses and midi rings. I can’t wear necklaces/bracelets when I am hot as they irritate me!

A: My cat eye sunglasses – I never leave the house without them!

8. Favourite summer fragrance/perfume?

A: Honey by Marc Jacobs

9. Summer book you’re loving?
C: I’m currently reading “Love in the Time of Cholera” by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. What is more Summery than love?!

A: I read The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion whilst I was on holiday – it’s such a good read!

10. What are you most excited to do this summer?
Summer is almost over but we had a pretty fun time – we spent a weekend glamping (see the post here) and we are off to the #bloggersfest next week (ahhhhhhhh!). But we are also really excited about Winter, the woolly tights and knitted jumpers in particular. We have both been knitting over the last few weeks, with lessons from Annie’s mum so we will show you our progress soon!

We would like to tag An English Rose from Manchester, Jasmin Charlotte Lifestyle and milliemakeup Have fun girls! #twolittleowls

Guest Post anyone?

A & C: hope you’re having a lovely Saturday! We just thought we would put a question out there, asking you all if anyone would like to help us out with a guest post? Annie is off on her holiday next week for two weeks and as you followers will know, we post everyday – which is a lot of work for one person, so would anybody like to help Chloe out? We would love to hear from you! #twolittleowls

Bedside Table Essentials: Annie

A: so today you can have an insight into what my bedtime cabinet essentials are, those things that you just can’t put in the draw because you use them so much.
I am a firm believer in pretty lamps. My boyfriend and I haven’t finished decorating our house yet (it’s costs so much and takes up so much time!) so I have resorted to accessorising all of our rooms with way too much clutter and lovely things, including lamps. I love this one on my bedside cabinet because it’s so sparkly. I also have candles everywhere, and often light them on my cabinet when I’m in bed reading because they are so relaxing.
My kindle is never far from me (and neither are my glasses so I can read without feeling like an old lady) and there’s usually a cup of fruit tea somewhere in my vicinity.

I have a ridiculous obsession with jewellery and have way too much in my life, I use this little teacup (which I bought from Florence’s last tour!) to keep all of the jewellery I wear a lot in, as you can see, I wear a lot of jewellery a lot of the time…

Lastly, my moisturisers of the moment. These change on a regular basis but at the minute, my favourites are these: Clinique dramatically different my Marc Jacobs Daisy – smells beautiful!!

What’re you’re bedside cabinet essentials? #twolittleowls

What’s in Annie’s handbag?

A: I love these posts (mainly because I’m incredibly nosey) so I thought I would let you all have a nose in my handbag too!

Admittedly, I’m am probably the most unorganised person in the world.

Literally nothing in my life is tidy, there’s always pens and random receipts in my handbag and I never keep my make up in make up case, it all just rattles around together! I don’t carry all my make up with me, but I always have my Bare Minerals mineral veil and flawless face brush, these are perfect if you need to get rid of some of the sneaky shine that appears from nowhere! I also have the sample size of my Porefessional with me because it’s perfect for touch ups. I’ve got my Model Co lipstick with me today, this is a staple in my bag, but if I’m wearing a different lipstick I’ll carry that too. I always have a blusher too – one with a mirror!! This Elf one is perfect. My tangle teezer is a must for my unruly mop and this Molton Brown Rose and Rhubarb hand lotion is my new favourite thing (it was in my Birchbox this month and it smells amazing!!!) Other than my trust purse, keys and kindle combo that’s my handbag summed up!

What are your handbag must haves? #twolittleowls

A & C: We would just like to send out a massive thank you to all of you lovely followers! We actually set ourselves a goal of Annie’s birthday to get to 100 followers (obviously a perfect time for celebration drinks), but we have reached it with more than three weeks to go, and its’ all down to you – we can’t tell you happy and excited we are!

Mother’s Day Gift Ideas

C & A: If you’re anything like us, you will want to treat your mum to something really special on Mother’s Day – and with it fast approcahing us on 30th March this year, we thought we would show you some lovely ideas for gifts. We’ve tried to include ideas from a wide price range, have a look and let us know which is your favourite!

Firstly, we have decided to include one of our favourite books – Mary Berry’s Autobiogrpahy, we reviewed this a while a go (find it here). This is available on Amazon from £9.00 – a bargian for such a lovely present.

Marc Jacobs have brought out a lovely new perfume just in time for Mother’s Day, Annie tested this last week and loved it – it has a lovely spring scent, flowery and pretty but fresh too. It can be found at Boots for £48.00.

The ‘Just Call Me’ tea towel is perfect because you can personalise to which ever famous chef suits your Mum the most! A unique gift for just £10, available here from

The ‘Mother Hen’ necklace by Amanda Coleman is so pretty – it can be ordered in either silver or gold and is also available from from £40, find it here.

We had to include these because they are beautiful. They are made by The Cake Lady who is based in Boston, Lincolnshire. She is selling these handmade goodies as special Mother’s Day packages – sadly she can only take orders for collection, but her shop is well worth a visit if you’re in the area. Take a look at her Facebook page in the link to see some more of her baked treats, and have a look around your local area for unique Mother’s Day gifts like Rebecca offers – you might find something as exciting as this!

What Mother’s Day gift ideas do you have? We’d love to know! #twolittleowls

The Liebster Award

A & C: Okay, so this is exciting! The lovely Anna at Stresses and Dresses (nice name!) has nominated us for The Liebster Award. We can’t thank you enough – it’s such a great way of finding new blogs to follow. We’ve decided to both answer the questions, that way you’ll get to know about us both 🙂

1. What is your favourite drink?

A: this is pretty obvious – it’s gotta be a white wine and lemonade. It is a perfect summer drink – we started drinking this last summer in my garden on those lovely, warm evenings and didn’t stop when the winter came!

C: Unfortunately, I am copying Annie here. It’s all about the white wine and lemonade! We said we were going to find a new drink in the winter but that didn’t happen… Non-alcoholic wise I would have to choose orange juice though!

2. Where is your favourite place to shop?

A: When it comes to clothes, I love ASOS because of their variety of brands. I really like vintage shopping though, fairs, antiques shows, charity shops. I’m always buying random tea cups, picture frames and glasses.

C: Asos, Topshop, Ark and vintage fairs!

3. Do you watch YouTube, if so who is your favourite YouTuber?

A: I don’t watch YouTube! But it is definitely on my list of things to do!

C: Me neither! I have seen a couple of Beauty in Beta‘s videos though which I really liked!

4. Do you prefer modern or vintage?

A: Vintage without a doubt.

C: A bit of both for me. I like to mix vintage finds with high street buys so my look is a bit different!

5. Do you prefer flats or high heels?

A: I like both – if I’m going out somewhere nice, I tend to opt for a heel but everyday wear is normally a nice pair of ballet pumps or boots.

C: I prefer buying heels, they are more exciting! But boots are my favourite every day footwear!

6.  What is your favourite flower?

A: There’s so many to choose from, but I think i would have to choose the cherry tree blossom flower, it’s so pretty and delicate – and reminds you that summer is on it’s way.

C: Me too! I need to stop spending so much time with Annie. But I have a cherry blossom tattoo over my foot, because it reminds me off my parents house (they have a massive cherry blossom tree in their front garden!)

7. What are you currently most grateful for?

A: Right now, I’m most grateful for having a place to call home that I love and never want to leave and my amazing (if slightly abnormal) friends and family.

C: Family, friends and health!

6. Do you prefer Skiing or sunny holidays?

A: Sunny! Even if I am pale and pasty, I am one of the clumsiest people in the world – I don’t think I will ever be able to attempt skiing!

C: I’m not sure. I have only ever been on sunny holidays and I’m not keen on sweating, I think it should be illegal. On the other hand I have never been skiiing and its something I really want to do!

8. Who is your Celebrity crush?

A: Leonardo Di Caprio – I hope I age as well as him.

C: Too many. Probably Tom Hardy if he was about a foot taller!

9. If you could visit the future or go back in time, which would you choose?

A: Back in time – I always think I was born in the wrong era, I’d love to be a hippy!

C: I’d go in to the future and bring loads of cool stuff back!

10.  What is your favourite TV programme?

A: This is hard, but either The Fresh Prince of Bel Air of The Great British Bake Off. Will Smith or cakes – tough decision.

C: Gossip Girl and The Great British Bake Off. Fashion, gossip and cake is all I ever need!

11.  What phone do you have?

A: an iPhone 4s.

C: Same!

Eleven Random Facts about us!

1. Chloe hates flesh coloured tights, they freak her out.

2. Chloe broke her phone within 24 hours of finally getting an iPhone, and has now had 3 new ones within 2 months – clumsiness is a problem with us.

3. Annie has two British Blue cats called Bill & Ted, they are incredibly fat and lazy

4. Both of our boyfriends are also friends. They like to pretend they are manly and “wild-boys”/ Ray Mears so go out hunting and making fires/other boring things.

5. Annie has a ridiculous fear of cotton wool. Yep, cotton wool. (She gives me them if they are “too cotton woolly” once she has tried them out!)

6. We would both rather have a night in, painting our nails and watching tv than go out drinking (we just drink at home instead!)

7. We are going paint balling on Saturday and are 100% sure we are going to be bruised and spending all the rest of the weekend recovering.

8. Chloe has an incredibly cute dog named Archie.

9. We both go to a Body Combat session at our gym together on a Monday and Thursday. We have to go to the back so no one can see how bad we are/how much we are laughing.

10. Favourite film? Mean Girls of course.

11. Every time we post, both of us read/proof read it before it is posted. Team work/ Chloe can’t spell and Annie can’t type.

And now to our nominations! (for some we couldn’t see how many followers people had, so we had to just guess! So sorry in advance if some have 200+ followers!)

Blogosphere Magazine Review

C: Something a bit different, yet relevant to all bloggers today! I just had to tell you all about the Blogosphere Magazine which I found out about through thatgracegirl’s blog (which is amazing, you should all have a quick peek)!

I have only just finished reading Issue 1, but it is so good I couldn’t wait to share it with you all! This is a magazine about blogging…written by bloggers. What more could you ever want or need? It is informative, interesting and beautiful. I only downloaded it as an e-book but I shall now be purchasing all three available issues in print, so I can keep them on my coffee table!

So what is the magazine about? Blogosphere includes blogs about food, photography, beauty and fashion. Each issue they focus on a particular blogger for each section (for example, in issue one Essie-Button was featured and interviewed for the Beauty section, and she wrote about 5 other beauty blogs that she loves and recommends. Each section is wonderfully written, and the photos are all amazing. So whether you are an experienced blogger who wants to connect with others, a newbie (like us!) just starting out and looking for some guidance or an avid blog reader looking for new material this is the perfect magazine for you!

If you are interested take a look on their website here to find out more/look at other reviews. E-book versions of each issue are only £2 each or you can order the printed version for £4. I also found downloading and paying for my e-book version simple and easy.

Let us know what you think or if you have already read the Blogosphere magazine! Annie is also super excited to steal mine once I get the printed copies! #twolittleowlsblog

Recipe for Life: Mary Berry’s Autobiography.

A: This is such a good read. I loved Mary Berry anyway and it’s made me love her even more. I love the fact that she’s included some of her family recipes and photos in it too – it makes it feel so personal. However, if you’re going to buy it and have an e-reader I’d recommend buying the actual book. The photographs aren’t very clear on my kindle screen and you can flip between the recipes because they are slotted randomly in between different chapters.

C: Annie downloaded this on her e-reader and said it was really good (and we love The Great British Bake Off/ just Mary Berry) so I really wanted to read it but I don’t have a Kindle so I couldn’t steal it. Annie ended up getting me it as one of my Christmas presents, and I read it cover to cover in 2 days! It is so easy to read and Mary (we are basically BFF’s now and on first name terms) has had such an interesting/difficult life that although I’m not usually interested in autobiographies, I loved this! I would tell you more but I don’t want to ruin the book for you, but it has useful recipes throughout the book (such a good idea!) and lovely photos. It is also really easy to read so is perfect as a bed time read. My mum has currently stolen it (and is loving it) and Mave (Annie’s mum) is borrowing it next!

Something a bit different from us today, but we love reading so if you want any more book reviews/recommendations please let us know #twolittleowlsblog
