Chloe’s Make-Up Wishlist!

C: Doing up a house is apparently a very expensive hobby, so all of my pennies have been spent on skirting boards and new kitchens rather than new make-up – resulting in quite a hefty make up lust list! So I thought I would share my wishlist with you guys! Let me know any opinions and whether the items I have picked are worthy of my saved up pennies!

photo 5

Nars Sheer Glow Foundation – every beauty blogger and their mother raves about this foundation and I still haven’t had the chance to try it! I have ordered a sample as there are no Nars stockists where I live and can’t cope with potentially spending over £30 on a useless product! I need a new foundation ready for gingers wedding next year though, so I am hoping this will be the one.

photo 4-6

Nars Creamy Concealer – same as above… would be ridiculous to get a new foundation and not try a concealer at the same time right? I don’t get too many spots, but I always have blemishes that need covering and pregnancy has resulted in some extra dark circles under my eyes that could do with some Nars magic.

photo 2-25

Anything by Tarte Cosmetics – I have seen some beautiful reviews of Tarte eyeshadow palettes and I really want to try one! I can’t decide which yet though, so if you have a recommendation please do let me know!

photo 3-12

Soap & Glory DIY Brow Bar – my beloved Elf Eyebrow Kit is slowly but surely running out and I need a replacement (boo ELF closing down its UK site!). I love S&G and have never tried a product I don’t like so I think this will be my next purchase to sort out my brows!

photo 1-24

NYX Lip creams or Butters – another brand I have seen everywhere and I am desperate to try! They seem such good value for money and so pretty… I so do not need any more lip products but that doesn’t mean I can’t want them eh?

So there’s the main make up items I am lusting after, obviously the mental list is much longer but I can’t seem too greedy now can I? Have any of you guys tried these products or do you have any other recommendations? #twolittleowls

Chloe’s May Favourites!

C: this month has gone so quickly, only seems like yesterday I was writing about my April favs – so much so I edited this photo originally saying “Aprils Favourites!” oops! So here we go… I haven’t had many stand out products this month, I didn’t want to just include anything so a few of these are old favourites that I keep on coming back too!

Image

So first up we have LUSH’s Let the Good Times Roll which is my go to exfoliator at the moment. I won’t bang on about this as we did a full review on it here but I have been reaching for this lately to exfoliate my skin and prep it for make up without irritating my skin!

Benefits Hoola Bronzer- a beauty blogger favourite. I have really got into my contouring recently and I would recommend this for anyone with pale skin. It is the perfect bronzer that isn’t orange at all and blends really easily! Perfect for a contouring novice like me!

Elf Eyebrow Kit – I love this bad boy and it is a massive bargain. Perfect for filling in my non existent brows and keeping them tame all day long. You can use as little or as much as you want for a natural or dark brown look. Love it.

Laura Mercier Vanilla Ombre Body Butter – I received this in one of my Birchboxes a while ago and have only just got round to trying it. The scent is AMAZING. I love vanilla scented things anyway but this is just heavenly. The smell lasts so long and it is really moisturising as well. I keep putting it on before bed so I can fall asleep surrounded by the beautiful scent and wake up too baby smooth skin.

Last but certainly not least we have Model Co’s Party Proof Lipstick in “Kitty”. I love these lipsticks (I now have 4 in different colours) as they are long lasting, have a smooth application and are the perfect nudes for every day wear. What more could you want? These are available for £15.50 on the Birchbox website for 3 nude or bright colours.

So what have you guys been loving this month? Let us know, we love to hear from you! #twolittleowlsblog

Daily Make-Up Essentials.

C: We thought we would share with you all our daily make-up essentials (so what we use on your average day), which will be coming in two parts. I am doing mine today and Annie will be sharing hers tomorrow!

photo(2)

1. Benefits Porefessional Primer – best ever for reducing the look of my bucket sized pores.

2. Mac Matchmaster Foundation 1.0 – best foundation I have ever found for my skin, perfect coverage.

3. No7 Beautiful Skin BB Cream in Fair – I used this instead of foundation for work. It makes me feel like I am doing my skin some good, even if I’m not!

4. Elf Complete Coverage Concealer – to cover up any imperfections and those horrendous dark circles after I have forgotten to sleep.

5. Powder – I like to set my foundation/concealer with a powder. This is a Collection one as I have not yet found the perfect powder, any suggestions anyone?!

6. Elf Eyebrow Kit – cannot leave the house without my eyebrows on. Love this cheaper version of the Benefit Browzings, does the job just as well for me.

7. Mac Bronzer in Medium/Dark – a natural, non-glittery finish.

8. Mac Blusher in Stay Pretty – a beautiful/girly colour thats super easy to blend

9. Mac Highlighter in Definitely Defined – true love. Two different colours depending on your mood, perfect for contouring.

10. Korres long lasting mineral eyeliner in black – so pigmented and lasts all day. Looks almost like liquid eyeliner when you haven’t got time for faffing!

11. Sleek eyeshadow palette in Au Naturel – perfect mix of glittery and every day eyeshadows that are highly pigmented.

12. Rimmel Glam Eyes Liquid Eyeliner in Black Glamour – easy to apply and lasts all day.

13. Benefit They’re Real Mascara – best. mascara. ever.

15. Maybelline Baby Lips in Pink Punch – keeps lips moisturised and looking pretty!

16. Model Co. Party Proof Lipstick in Kitty – received this in my Birchbox and I love it. Non-drying and a lovely colour that lasts ages and ages!

So turns out I wear more make-up on a daily basis than I thought! Hope you enjoyed that, let us know what you think or if you have any recommendations/questions! #twolittleowlsblog

Christian Dior 5 Couleurs Lift in Lifting Grey – A Re-discovery!

Image

C: I bought this beautiful Christian Dior palette months ago but I have only just re-discovered it in my collection (I have a bad tendency to “save” new things for a special occasion that never happens) and its currently my favourite thing to use!

It contains a “smooth base-lift” (eyelid primer to us non-posh people) to even out your eyelid, allow for easy eyeshadow application and to help your eye make-up last longer. It then has two shades of serum eyeshadow which are super easy to blend as well as a highlighter and an eye-brow/eye liner. The eye shadows last all day (I have only used them with the eyelid base so I am unsure if they would last all day alone) and the highlighter is perfect for under your eyebrow arch! The eyebrow liner is also a perfect shade for me, is build-able and lasted a 14 hour day at work – what more could I want?!

The cheapest I can find it available is £34.85 here but I got mine in an end of season sale for only £25 (Annie persuaded me to give in and buy it) so maybe have a shop around if you have fallen in love with it as much as I have! Let us know what your current favourites are this month, or what you think of this lovely Christian Dior palette #twolittleowlsblog

E.L.F – review

A & C: We gave you a quick review of our E.L.F delivery last week because we were so impressed by its speediness! But now it’s time for a more detailed review of the individual products.

image

A: Okay, so I ordered these goodies…

1. Eyebrow Lifter and Filler in Ivory/Light £3.75 – the lifter is really good on this to use as a highlighter too, and it comes with its own sharpener in the lid, which is really handy! But I have found the colour a little harsh for my tone, I’ve got such fair eyebrows so it is really difficult to find a good colour

2. Lipstick in Voodo £1.50 – this is such a nice colour, a deep pink which is perfect for dressing up your look, and it’s a bargain – or practically free as Chloe would say!

3. Blush in Blushing Rose £3.75 – perfect colour for every day wear, when you just need a bit of an extra blush in your cheeks. It comes in a really good compact case that has a mirror too! The only thing I would say though is that a blusher brush would have finished it off.

4. Studio Matte Lip Colour in Praline £3.75 – favourite product! This particular colour is a really rich pinky/brown shade and is ideal for just wearing for work, or for going out. It’s a moisturiser too, so it doesn’t dry your lips out – just what we all need this time of the year!

General review: cheap, versatile products and definitely worth buying – lip products seem to be the best! But make sure you google colour swatches as the colours on the site arent true to life!!

C: So I ordered these:

1.Studio Eyebrow Kit in “Dark” £3.75 – the formula is lovely and smooth, and I love the idea of the setting powder (similar to Benefits Browzings). I found the colour was perfect for me, and it wasn’t too pigmented. So you could build it up or have a more natural look, it also lasted all day!

2. Complete Coverage Concealer in “Light” £3.75 – I really liked the 4 colours, making it easier to match your skin colour (the lighter ones made great under eye highlighters!) and it gave very good coverage. However, I did not find that it lasted all day, I did have to re-apply a couple of hours later.

3. High Definition Powder in “Translucent” £6 – This was the only product that I was not keen on. I have very dry skin but like to use a powder to set my foundation. I found this very drying, so would probably be perfect for someone with very oily skin? It did however last all day which I was pleased with, it just didn’t suit my skin type!

Overall I was very pleased with my products, particularly for the price! The eyebrow kit was my definite favourite though (and who doesn’t want perfect eyebrows!). They also currently have free shipping on orders over £15 so I’m considering another order to get some lipsticks! #twolittleowlsblog

A good post day!

C & A: We got our previously mentioned E.L.F Comestics in the post today, which we were very excited about! We love post! So we thought we would share some pictures and our first impressions!

Image

We placed our order on Tuesday night and it was delivered this morning, which we thought was really quick delivery! The packaging all co-ordinates really well and is appropriate for the product inside – no spillages or accidents during delivery! We were really pleased with all our items, the colours we picked were lovely but we would recommend googling the colours/items as the swatches that are online are not very accurate. Once we have tested them all out, we will do a more detailed review, but first impressions are great! I was really pleased with my powder and concealers, they blend really well but I dont know yet how long they last, and Annie was really pleased with her lipstick colours and formulas. Remember there is currently a 40% off sale that we mentioned in our previous post here. #twolittleowlsblog
