A wishful Christmas wish list

C: you ever see something and think OH GOD IM IN LOVE, and then realise that it’s completely unnecessary so you shouldn’t ask for it for Christmas? But secretly you keep thinking about it and wish it was yours? Here is my secret Christmas wish list (in the hope L decides he wants to buy me a lot of extra presents)

David Ayling is a jewellery making genius! I follow him on Facebook and he creates such beautiful pieces, I’m always slightly jelly that I don’t own anything! This ring is my absolute fav, I showed it to L and he said maybe if he gets a bonus in Feb so fingers crossed!!! (On another note, follow DA on Facebook as he also does jewellery making evenings etc. Which are super exciting!)

We then have the Leonore Doc Martens. These are my fave brand for shoes and I already have two pairs (which never wear out so will last forever!) so I don’t NEED these… but I sure as hell would like them! Plus.. fleece lined? Who doesn’t need new winter warm boots?

Thirdly (not a word) we have the Violet Voss Ride or Die palette which is available from beauty bay. I did consider putting this on my list cos you know… just look at it. But I have so many unloved palettes waiting for my attention it seemed silly to get another! Sad face.

Finally we have a Mac Christmas collection of 12 mini lipsticks. Now really, no one needs 12 mini lipsticks but surely everyone wants them? I asked L for these too, and I won’t say what he described them as on here but I’m guessing it’s a no! Alas. I do love miniature things!

So guys, anything you are secretly wishing for for Christmas that is totally unnecessary but super beautiful?! Let me know! Xxx

Ps… obviously I don’t own any of these delights so photos are borrowed from their websites! Any problems and I will remove them for you ūüôā

Guess whose back!

Back again! Chloe and annie are back, tell a friend! That doesn’t quite work does it? Never mind, I’m sure you are all super psyched cos you have been crying every day since our last post.

So let’s have a mini update… I now have a two year old, and annie has an 8 month old baba who is super beaut! After months of reading posts (mainly Rach’s) and missing blogging I decided… it’s time to get back on it.

So this photo currently sums up my life at the mo. Cutie babas, my pooch and living in the county side. So my face is currently a slight disappointment and I need some blogging inspiration to motivate me to love make up and skincare as much as I used to!

We haven’t decided on a blogging schedule yet, basically cos we don’t want to rush things and then realise we have no time to post every day or something cray. So currently I will be posting my usual beauty etc posts and annie will be popping in for some baba updates and to tell me how pretty I am and how much she misses me cos I currently have a constant cold so can’t go smooch them!

So thanks for reading and for staying loyal to our two little owls baby as well as our new (and not so new) real ones! WE MISS YOUUUUU

Review: KIKO MILANO Lipstick and Eye Shadow with swatches

A: We recently made a trip to London for a launch party (click here if you want to see more!), and whilst Chloe and I were taking the obligatory ‘we’re on a¬†train’ selfies, I suddenly realised I had left my lipstick at home. But don’t panic, our route from the tube station to the event was planned by following make-up shops (we are beauty bloggers after all). Our first stop was KIKO MILANO – an¬†Italian professional cosmetics brand that features a range of cutting-edge makeup, face and body treatments. We knew we would probably end up heading here anyway; regardless of the lack of lipstick situation, because¬†Chloe’s lovely mother-number-two actually bought her¬†some Kiko goodies back from a trip to Italy in June (you can find the post here). She loved the products, and with the first UK store opening in April this year we hadn’t had chance to visit one for ourselves (we live in the middle of nowhere) – until now!

We visited the store on Regent Street, just off Oxford Circus, and it was SO busy. The layout of the store is amazing though, with really good lighting (you know when you go in some make-up stores and the lighting is SO bright and makes you look/feel horrendous? Totally not like that, we didn’t feel too scared to look in a mirror) and the products were well labelled and stocked. There was a lot of pushing from customers though, with everyone desperate to have get a good look everything. The products were spread across two floors but we actually only had a look round the one floor because we didn’t have much time! So what did I purchase?

Velvet Mat Satin Lipstick in Autumn Pink Shade 611 Р£6.90

“Mat satin lipstick with exclusive design”

This is the best lipstick packaging I have ever seen – hands down. It’s rose gold and beautiful – but does take a little working out (there are even instructions on how to open it on the inside of the box!). Once its open, you can see the quality of the product. It smells lovely and when it’s applied it super creamy and velvety too. This shade is a gorgeous deep brownish pink with a subtle red tint. It lasted all night too, I only had to reapply once, it almost has a staining quality. ¬†As you can probably guess, I am head-over-heels in love with this. The colour, the formula – everything about it. Plus it’s one of the only pink shades I’ve been able to find that suits me!! Ginger and pink clash in a very bad way. I also cannot believe the price of this. I would even go as far as saying that I prefer it’s texture and quality to that of my MAC matte lipstick (!!?), and it’s less than half the price!

Colour Sphere Eyeshadow in Avio Multicolour Shade 26 Р£5.90

“Baked silk effect¬†eye shadow,¬†brilliant¬†and easy to blend”

I normally wear eye shadows as a liner, rather than an all-over lid colour, but I thought this could work really well for both – if I am brave enough to branch out a little. Plus¬†I don’t have a bluish toned eye shadow and I read somewhere that it’s the best colour to wear for blue eyes (I might be wrong!). It has a navy base colour¬†with undertones of grey and gold with a gold/silver shimmer and micro glitter. I’ve used this nearly everyday for since I’ve had it, it works so well as a liner applied with a damp brush for an every day look – but also smudged out more of a smokey-eye effect. It lasts all day too! The packaging feels really high-end and durable. Not something I would expect at all from spending ¬£5.90, it almost has a MAC look about it. There are 30 colours in this collection, plus a massive range of other eye shadow collections, all at amazing prices!

I thought I’d include some swatches to give you a true photo of how the products look when they’re applied. I’m so happy with my choices, it wasn’t an easy decision to make because Kiko have such a wide range.

If you haven’t checked out KIKO already, you should head to their website right now. They are like ELF, but better quality – don’t get me wrong, I love ELF but sometimes their packaging can be a little off, and KIKO have hit the packaging nail on the head.

Review: Oriflame Triple Core Lipstick

A & C: we recently attended the Bloggers Festival in London (which you can read about here and here) and one of the Brands that we met was Oriflame. Chloe had not previously heard of them, but Annie had and we were super excited to see all of the beautiful cosmetics they had brought along with them – check out the previous links for some photos! We were lucky enough to receive one of their Triple Core Lipsticks in our goodie bags in the colour “plum” so thought we had better write you lovely followers and readers a review!

As you can see from the photo above (and probably the name) these Lipsticks differ from others in that they have three different layers to them, described by Orfilame as “fusing caring balm, passionate colour and dramatic gloss into one”, so what did we think of them?

photo 2 (1)

Firstly we were both very impressed at Oriflame managing to pick a lipstick that suited us both/we both liked – we normally prefer completely different colours but this was perfect for both of us. So we imagine this shade would suit most people. It is very pigmented so the colour pay off is amazing – very good for a moisturising lipstick. It was also easy to apply and lasted a good three hours before reapplication was needed.

Chloe wasn’t entirely sold on the glittery aspect, as previously has found glitter to be too chunky/too much but this was just right. It added a subtle shimmer than looked lovely in the light and was still suitable for every day wear. We can’t wait to wear it this Autumn, and will definitely be looking into getting some more colours of this bad boy.

The Triple Core Lipsticks are available here for £10.95, let us know if you will be investing! #twolittleowls

* Although we were given this item, all views are our own and we were not asked to write this post.

A mini Body Shop haul

A: Although I’m not meant to be spending money this month, when I saw that The Body Shop had restocked InstaBlur, I couldn’t resist. And then I had to spend a little extra to get free delivery and, voila – a mini haul got delivered today!!

So first of all, let’s talk about InstaBlur. This has had the blogging community going wild and it’s the quickest selling product The Body Shop have had in 10 years. I had to get my hands on some to see what all of the fuss is about but I’ve had to wait ages for the stock to arrive! It’s priced at ¬£14, but if you know the right places to get discount codes you can normally get one for The Body Shop. I got 40% off so only paid ¬£8.40, which I think is more reasonable because the products size isn’t that big. I haven’t used it yet but I’m super excited to review this, it’s branded as an all-in-one 5 action perfector so fingers cross it will work it’s magic on me!

Next, I got these two eyeshadows in the sale for only ¬£4.20 each. I went for a copper ombr√© and a sage ombr√©. They both have two shades, a lighter one and a darker one which look perfect for blending and the colours are really pigmented too. Can’t wait to give these a go!

Lastly, a new lipstick (I just can’t help myself!). This was in the sale too, for ¬£4.20. I chose Vintage Rose, a beautiful pinky/nude with a slight shimmer.

Reviews of these will be posted soon, so keep following!!

The Lust List: Annie’s Part 3

A: Following my Pixi Lust List and MAC Lust List, I thought I’d better show you my Nars Lust List. I found this one a little harder to put together because I pretty much need all of the Nars products in my life and I don’t own any at the moment – disasterous.

Matte Mulitple: Exumas

“Vibrant pops and sensual sun-kissed modern matte hues for lips and cheeks. Used dry it delivers a burst of high-impact color; used wet, color melts into skin with an imperceptibly smooth, sheer finish.”

I’m a sucker for a multi-use product, especially if it’s matte. The colours available in this are amazing and look really pigmented, and I really like the fact that this can be used either wet or dry to give a different finish. This is ¬£30 from the Nars website, for a duo product that’s not too bad and the size looks good value for money too.

Instant Line & Pore Perfector

“The ultimate in form and function for targeted, effortless application. This artist essential instantly smoothes fine lines and reduces large pores to immediately create a smooth even surface for foundation and makeup application. “

If this does what it says on the tin, then I’m sold.¬†I have huge pores, but I try to avoid products like this because they just get in my skin and clog my pores even more – vicious circle! BUT, this is a lust list, which implies that I would have lots of dollar to buy these things, meaning I would buy this if I could because it might just work wonders! It’s priced at ¬£20 – pretty resonable for a high-end primer type product. You can find it here if you’re as tempted as I am.

Orgasm Illuminator

Light the skin from within. A collection of light-reflecting liquids that glide on to refresh and enhance the complexion with shimmering incandescence. Deceptively sheer, decidedly luminous.”

A cult classic. I’m still desperatly seeking the perfect ‘dewey look’ product, and this looks pretty promising – ¬£22.50 and available here.

Trio Eyeshadow Delphes

“A trio of harmonious, color combinations of eyeshadow shades. Worn alone or together, all Trio Eyeshadow shades feature micro-fine powders that are highly pigmented, longwearing and crease resistant. Color glides on smoothly, evenly and blends effortlessly.”

Okay, I need this. I am a total eyeshadow convert, and although I don’t wear a lot, these colours are perfect for me. Pallettes are perfect because you can use the colours alone, as a duo or as a trio. These are sparkling sheer peach, matte dove grey and frosted sage. Beautiful, and ¬£33 available here.

What are your Nars lusts? Are you lucky enough to have any of these? #twolittleowls

Our Favourite June Instagram Moments

A & C: June is nearly over which means we are closer to getting out the jumpers and wooly hats ( we know we shouldn’t be wishing away the summer but jumpers and wooly hats are exciting!). We thought we would put together a collage of our favourite June moments, just for you all to enjoy!

Quite a few exciting things happened this month, we went to a Summer Ball so we had exciting outfits and make up to plan. We also had our Birchbox deliveries, which is always something to look forward to!
We both had a couple of cute ootd’s, and wishlists for the summer – which featured topshop, a standard in a wishlist for us! Our lipstick collections were assessed – and we both decided we obviously need to buy more. Chloe discovered a new brand, mother number 2 got her a Kiko cosmetics lipstick and nail varnish from Italy, click here to find out more!
Last but not least, the Cosmo Blog Awards competition closed this month and we appreciate every single one of your votes – it means so much to us and we love to hear your feedback!

What are your June highlights? #twolittleowls

The Lust List: Annie’s Part 1

A: Recently I’ve been lusting over so many high-end products that I thought I would put together a series with¬†my top branded products – starting with MAC.

Cremeblend Blush

“a blush that manages to make a simple blush state-of-the-art. Creamy, easy to blend medium coverage formula imparts a natural finish that’s smooth, dewy-fresh and long-lasting.”

I love¬†a good cream blusher and this is top of the list for me. It looks really buildable, which is perfect for Summer as you can apply as little or as much as you need – depending on your tan (I still need a lot, pale and pasty is an all-round-year look for me). I think my favourite colour is ‘posey’ because it’s a dusky pink rather than a red-pink, which would suit my skin tone perfectly. It’s currently for sale on MAC’s UK site for ¬£18.00 here.

green luxe

Verluxe Pearlfushion Shadow: Greenluxe

“Five complementary shades that glide on and blend beautifully for infinite day-to-night looks: light peach, bright champagne with pearl, dark olive, blackened green with gold pearl and deep forest green with pearl. Matte to highly pearlized finish.”

I have only just started to get into my eyeshadows (I know!!), and this looks b-e-a-utful. I love wearing goldy/blacky/shimmery tones on my eyeline and blending them out with subtle shimmers so this would be perfect for me. It’s quite pricey at ¬£30, but I think it’s totally worth it. You can find it here, along with lots of other shades.

168 Large Angled Contour Brush

“For expert application of cheek contour. This brush is a large angled contour – the fibres form a buffed edge and are soft and firmly bundled. M¬∑A¬∑C professional brushes are hand-sculpted and assembled using the finest quality materials. They feature birch, linden and ramin wood handles, nickel-plated brass ferrules.”

Contouring is my new favourite thing, so I obviously need a new tool. This is perfect and I have other MAC brushes so I know they are amazing quality. The angle is ideal for contouring and blending – it is ¬£27, but MAC brushes are super long-lasting so I wouldn’t mind spending that much. You can find it here.

Matte Lipstick: So Chaud

“Colour plus texture for the lips. Stands out on the runway. Simmers on the street! What made M¬∑A¬∑C famous.”

I just had to include a lipstick, you can’t have a lust list without one can you? Orange is my favourite colour at the moment, and I can’t even explain how much I need this. I have a few MAC lipsticks already, in nude and wearable colours so a bright would be perfect to add to my collection. At ¬£15 I may just have to treat myself. Click here to see the rest of the amazing lipstick selection at MAC.

Kiko Cosmetics: An Introduction

C: my lovely mother (number2) got home from Italy yesterday and got me an amazing present from Kiko Cosmetics! I was super excited as obviously I love make up, and who doesn’t like a nice treat? So here is what she picked for¬†me:

So firstly, a little introduction to Kiko Cosmetics as although I had previously heard of them I didn’t have any of their products. Kiko is rooted in Italy where they originate from but they now have stores in London and you can order from their super easy to navigate website. Kiko describe their brand as: “Be What You Want to Be.” Through its extraordinarily wide and diversified range of products, KIKO allows everyone to express their own personality with custom-made products. A variety of colours, effects and sensations that are unique in the market to suit your style, skin tone, skin type and specific requirements, at every phase of your life.

So what products did the mother pick me? First up is this amazing Nail Lacquer in 301 РGrass Green. A beautiful bright green that I cannot wait to try out Рit is perfect for summer! Kiko also have an amazing colour selection available, and from comparing this nail polish to the swatches available on their websites, the colour samples seem very accurate.

I also received a Luscious Cream Lipstick in 501 Light Rose which is a beautiful nude colour and the formula is amazingly hydrating. However, lets just talk about that packaging! As soon as I took this out of the box I was super excited about how high end this looked – so high end I couldn’t work out how to open it and mother2 had to help me! This looks amazing in my make up bag and is really sturdy so you won’t have any squished lipstick incidents – perfect!

So my overall first impressions? 100% Kiko! I shall be doing full reviews when I have had a chance to test these bad boys out, but please do let me know if you have tried them before/what you think! #twolittleowlsblog

Annie’s Summer Wishlist

A: So Summer has arrived and hopefully the Sun is going to stay for a while. I thought I’d put together a wish list of all the things I’m lusting after at the moment because I haven’t done one in a while.

Firstly, this Genie Lipstick from Barry M. I spotted this on The Oxford Owl’s blog and have been looking out for it ever since, she posts some really good product reviews – click here and check them out! Don’t worry – this isn’t green lipstick. Well, it is BUT is magically changes colour when it’s applied – to you ‘perfect personal shade of pink’. The formula adapts to the Alkali in your lips, to give you your own individual shade of lipstick. Clever hey?! It’s meant to be really long lasting too, so I’m looking forward to giving this a go! I’ve found it for ¬£4.49 on the Barry M website here.

Next, I’m after a highlighter. I really want to try out the ‘dewey’ look and I think one of the best ways to achive it is with a cream highlighter. I know I’m pretty late to the game with this one, but as far as I can see, Benefit’s High Beam is going to be the best. If you have any other suggestions, please let me know!!

I’ve been looking for a midi-length skirt for a while now, and I think this navy spotted one by The Whitepepper at¬†Topshop is perfect. I love the button through front panel and the way that it sits – high and on the waist.¬†It’ll be perfect for those days that I want to cover up but still be summery. It’s ¬£48 and can be found here.

Lastly, I am 100% going to be buying an ice-lolly mould this summer. I love making ice-lollies at home because you can make them exactly the way you want, and this Lollyring mould from Lakeland is adorable! You can make 6 rings in 3 different designs, and I know my nephews and niece will love making them. The set is £4.99 and you can buy it here.

What’re your Summer must haves? #twolittleowls
