A No7 Christmas Count Down – Day 21 & 22!

C: it makes me super sad I only have 3 doors left to open of my calendar… But HELLO CHRISTMAS!

Yesterday I received the extravagant volume waterproof mascara which I think is full sized. A new mascara is always a welcome addition to my stash as I always rebuy my benefit mascara so don’t normally get to try out other options as I hate buying things that might not work for me!

Then today I received the smokey eye brush! This is perfect for this time of year and for me because I love a good smokey eye! This is quite densely packed and will be amazing at applying colour and blending it out! I literally can’t wait to try this and can imagine it’s going to become a firm favourite in my collection!

What do you think of my day 21 and 22 treats?! #twolittleowls

Chloe’s October Empties!

C: Another month… another very successful empties box! I hadn’t really paid attention to what I was using up this month so I was pleasantly surprised to see that I had used up nine things – thats pretty impressive work for me, especially when I wasn’t specifically trying to use stuff up! So here is this months empties:

IMG_0181

Lacura Face Care Aqua-complete Multi Intensive Serum – Annie actually reviewed this very accurately here, so I wont go into too much detail but I really liked this. I did remove the label though so it would look prettier on my dresser… but it is a great serum, especially for the price!

Repurchase? Definitely! This is such a bargain!

The Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Shower gel – this had been sat in my stash since Christmas as I hate eating grapefruit, and grapefruit washing up liquid makes me vom so I assumed I would hate this! Due to laziness, as this was the first shower gel I came too whilst having a rummage I finally used it and loved it! The scent is delicate and beautiful, and it lathers up nicely so a little goes a long way! This tiny bottle lasted me over two weeks – another reason why I love the Body Shop!

Repurchase? Surprisingly yes!

Sarah McNamara Miracle Skin Transformer Hyrdoactive Microderm – another Birchbox sample here I believe! I liked the scrubbiness of this, it was nicely exfoliating without being too harsh but I wasn’t keen on the formula on the cream. It just sat on top of my skin and didn’t sink in at all, meaning when I used a micellar water afterwards there was still loads of make up there.

Repurchase? Nope.

Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter – Im pretty sure one of these turns up in my empties posts about every other month! I bloody love this stuff! It smells amazing and is super moisturising, it is definitely one of my favourite products ever!

Repurchase? I still have two more in my stash, but when I run out I definitely will.

Tresemme Salon Sleek Glossing Spray – I loved this! It helped tame fly aways, reduced frizz and added a nice shine to my hair without making it look greasy.

Repurchase? I would do but I haven’t been able to find it anywhere! If I do then yes!

IMG_0182

My Burberry Perfume – another sample Annies mum gave me (I promise I will find time to unpack my perfume collection at some point and stop just using samples)! I really like this, and its way more sophisticated than most perfumes I wear so I ended up using it up pretty quickly! It also lasts all day and I received lots of compliments when wearing it!

Repurchase? I think I actually would you know, and I never buy perfumes!

Benefit They’re Real Mascara – my favourite mascara that I reviewed here!

Repurchase? I still have a full sized version on the go, but I will be doing, yes.

Anna Sui Secret Wish perfume – I won’t go on about this, as it just wasn’t the right scent for me. It lasted all day and I am sure it would be lovely on someone else but I just didn’t love it! I also promise I am running out of perfume samples to use up so I will stop boring you with them soon!

Repurchase? Nope.

Black Eyeliner from The Body Shop – I have no idea which Body Shop eyeliner this was, as it lasted so long all the writing rubbed off/I have sharpened it too often! I loved this, but it was finally time to say goodbye to an old faithful friend and admit it was time to retire. It lasted all day and had great colour pay off so it was a winner in my eyes!

Repurchase? I would happily re-buy an eyeliner from The Body Shop, I shall be having a look when I next pop in!

So there we have it, a mixed batch for Octobers empties! Have you guys tried any of these products? If so did you agree with my mini reviews? #twolittleowls

Chloes June 2015 Empties!

C: I am writing this post in advance, as this month is super exciting as I AM FINALLY MOVING HOUSE. Now due to moving house I cannot justify packing a box of empties… and I have also been using up as many half used products as I can. So here is my early written June empties!

photo(43)

Cetraben Emollient Cream – an essential for any eczema sufferers! I spoke about this badboy here if you are interested in eczema skincare, but for me this is a bathroom essential! I don’t have to use it all the time now I have my eczema under control, but I use it up to four times a day when I have a flare up and its AMAZING. It literally gets rid of dry eczema in a couple of days. True love.

Repurchase? Always.

Soap & Glory Hand Food – one of my favouritest hand creams! I love the smell of this, it doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin and it gets rid of dry skin super easily. I have recommended this to several friends who had really dry hands and they now love it too! (side note: don’t leave out in the sun – it doesn’t like it).

Repurchase? I got 3 for Christmas… but once they are used up I will indeed be repurchasing!

Carolina Herrera 212 Sexy Perfume – not keen on the name of this… or the bottle as you cant stand it up, but love the scent! I stole this from my mother, who I am sure has noticed by now but not bothered telling me to return it (her bathroom is just a free shop). The scent lasts all day and is quite sweet, which is perfect for me as I am a child and like to smell like candyfloss.

Repurchase? I never buy myself perfume… I’m not sure why. But if I did I would happily repurchase this little gem.

First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser – both Annie and I reviewed this here if you fancy a look, so I won’t bang on about it! But basically… love this. Great cleanser for sensitive skin.

Repurchase? Hella yeah.

Avon Super Extend Mascara – I got this free with another Avon purchase, so decided to give it a go rather than repurchase my Benefit They’re Real straight away… which I regret! Now I know this is meant to extend lashes, which it does do… but it also offers zero volume. So I just get strange spider legs lashes that I don’t enjoy. It also seems to have disappeared off my lashes by later in the afternoon, and ran out super quickly. So basically… soz Avon as usually I love you, but this mascara is not the one for me!

Repurchase? No!

So there we have another month of mostly positive empties, and another successful month of using up my stash! I haven’t been spending my pennies either, so I will basically have no stash soon! Shock Horror! Anyway… let me know if you have tried any of these products, and if you agree with my mini reviews! #twolittleowls

Review: False Lash Effect from P.S. Love…

A: Mascara is a daily must for me, and it’s the one thing I rarely (pretty much never) leave the house without because ridiculously fair lashes are an unfortunate ginger trait. I did have a HG mascara which I was really happy with; What’s Your Type Bodybuilder Mascara from theBalm Cosmetics (reviewed here!), but it wasn’t the easiest product in the world to get hold of (we live in the middle of nowhere) and it costs around £15 with postage and packaging. And I go through mascara pretty quickly. So whilst browsing Primark on payday last week (always dangerous) I decided to give Primark’s beauty range a go because I’d heard such good things.

The False Lash Effect Mascara from the P.S. Love… range is just £2.50 so I didn’t really have a lot to loose, but also wasn’t expecting amazing things. But my god was I wrong. This is one of the best mascaras I have ever used! The brush (what I like to call a real brush, instead of those horrid plastic ones) is super chunky, so adds tonnes of volume. It also holds a nice curl, and let’s you apply lots of length. It’s not designed to create long, elegant lashes – but that isn’t a look I go for. It does exactly what it says on the packaging, and really does create a false lash effect.

After I applied it for the first time, I thought it must be too good to be true. I was fully expecting to have severe panda eyes by lunchtime and to not be able to get it off at the end of the day. But it stayed put all day, and was no more difficult to remove than Benefit’s They’re Real. I’ve actually been and bought two more and put them in my reserve make up stock!! I’m a massive fan of the packaging too. It’s shiny and gold, so I was always going to love it. I can’t wait to do a make up look featuring this for you guys.

Have you tried any of the P.S. Love… range? #twolittleowls

Chloe’s March 2015 Empties.

C: oh hallo March! This year is going crazy quick, but atleast I am sticking with one of my resolutions and have been using up some of my crazy beauty/skincare stash ready for my house move. I think I would need about 10 boxes just to empty the bathroom/dressing table cupboards! So here is this months empties:

photo-33

Sally Hansen Ultimate Shield Base & Top Coat – personally I wasn’t that keen on this. It made a good base coat and protected my nails well but I wouldn’t say it made my nail polishes last any longer. In fact this is still half full, and as I haven’t used it in so long it has gone gloopy and horrid.

Repurchase? No.

The Body Shop Moringa Shower Gel – I received a few of these for Crimbo from one of my work colleagues, and I was most excited about using this one as I had not tried anything from this range before but knew it was quite popular. Obviously the formula was as lovely as all Body Shop shower gels but I personally thought it smelt like my nan… soz.

Repurchase? Not this flavour, no.

Lush Eau Roma Water Toner Water – I bought this after trying the Tea Tree Water toner from Lush, thinking that this might be better for my sensitive skin. I really enjoyed using this, and found that it did calm down my skin beautifully, but did not help with my blemishes. So I now use this in the morning to calm down any redness, and the Tea Tree Water in the evening to combat spots. Perfect combo.

Repurchase? Yes.

Gilchrist & Soames Mineral Bath – I received this in a Birchbox, and was never that excited about using it. I left it in my over night bag and ended up using it several times whilst at my parents – we just have a shower at our apartment. It was a lovely formula, but once again the scent just wasn’t for me. I prefer sweet, vanilla-ry scents.

Repurchase? no.

Soap & Glory Thick & Fast Mascara – this was in the giant S&G box I got for Crimbo last year! Mental. I keep stuff for too long apparently. I really enjoyed using this, it took a lot of getting used too as the brush is quite big for my tiny squinty eyes, but once I got the hang of it I loved it. It really thickens lashes, is super black and lasts all day. It doesn’t quite trump my Benefit They’re Real Mascara but as a cheaper option this is perfect.

Repurchase? Yes, I would happily pick this up again.

So there we have my March empties! Have any of you guys tried any of these products before? What did you think of them? #twolittleowls

Review: September Pink Parcel

C: my second Pink Parcel arrived today, and as my August review went down so well I thought I would write a little review on this months as well (if you would like to see my previous box click here). As mentioned previously this is a subscription based around your time of the month, supplying your period essentials as well as some extra little treats to cheer you up. This costs £9.95 (including postage) for each box, but you can have a trial box for only £5.95. You just update your cycle dates and Pink Parcel will make sure you have everything you need, you even get to pick your tampon brand/type and pads are being made available soon! So anyway… over to the box itself.

photo 1(13)

As I mentioned last month, the packaging is super discreet so any of you that are embarrassed by your time of the month (you shouldn’t be!) can rest easily as no one will be able to tell what the postman has brought. Each box contains a “for now” bag which contains 5 tampons to put into your handbag (I found this very useful last month as I ALWAYS forget, I’m not very good at being a girl), along with two boxes “for later” which both contain 10 more tampons – so 25 in total! Once again these are nice to put in your bathroom cabinet as no one can tell whats in them.

photo 2(13)

On to the fun part – apologies for the bad photo, the tree outside/clouds did not make it easy for me.

Elizabeth Arden, Beautiful Colour Maximum Volume Mascara – Described as being able to dramatically thicken lashes as it separates and defines. It is also claimed as being smudge-proof and lasts all day. I was really excited to get this (I had cheated and looked at a spoiler already!) as it is a mascara I haven’t tried before and a well-loved brand. 10 points to Gryffindor Pink Parcel.

Witch Naturally Clear Anti-Blemish Redness Relief Moisturiser – apparently corrects redness and helps soothe skin. Clinique is my HG moisturiser provider but I am happy to try out others, especially those that apparently will reduce redness! My father-in-law apparently loves Witch products so they must be good!

Garnier 5 Sec Perfect Blur Smoothing Protecting Primer – another welcome addition to my box! I am currently using Benefits Porefessional primer and previously used a Mac one so it is great to try something that is more affordable/pink so will look nice in my make up bag.

As some other little extras I also got a Teapigs, tummy tonic peppermint teabag, perfect to reduce bloating during this troublesome time of month (I’ve got a food baby from eating too much carrot cake earlier, so hopefully this will help!). I also got another bar of Doisy & Dom’s maca, vanilla & cacao organic dark chocolate, and although I received the same bar last month I am pretty happy about it as it is AMAZING!. I’m still not entirely sure maca is, so please do enlighten me if you know! And last, but not least I got a little voucher for a free glass of bubbly at Cafe Rouge when purchasing any main meal – winner!

Overall I am really happy with my Pink Parcel this month! Unfortuately I will have to pause my subscription this month as my bathroom is over run with tampons (any chance we can just get sent the treats?!) but I really do love this subscription. An absolute bargain at £9.95! What do you guys thing? If you fancy signing up/having a peek at the website just click here #twolittleowls

Clinique Beauty Haul/A Family Day Out

C: I went shopping with my sister on Sunday (it was her birthday recently so I promised her a day out to get some treats), and I obviously ended up spending far too much money. I have not featured everything I bought, as I am sure the black skinny jeans I got for work and the M&S tights (seriously, best tights ever) are not that interesting to you all… but here are the beauty bits I got!

photo 1(12)

So first up, Benefit currently have an amazing offer on! If you take your old eye liner (it can be any brand) into their stores you can swap it for a sample of their new liner! Obviously something I couldn’t resist, as I have loads of eye liners I don’t particularly like floating about!

I then went into John Lewis and picked up the Clinique dramatically different moisturizing gel which is my HG moisturiser. I ran out a couple of weeks ago and attempted to use up some samples of others that I have and was left disappointed/with a face that resembled a desert. We reviewed this here if you fancy a little nosey. I also chose this instant pore perfector, as my pores are a constant problem for me. The lady at the counter asked if I had any skin problems I wanted to discuss and then had to listen to me blabbering on for ages… so ten points to Gryffindor for putting up with me. Can’t wait to try this out… review coming soon hopefully!

It was also Bonus Time at JL so I received this gift:

photo 2(12)

Which included:

The lotion version of my moisturiser, a beautiful blusher (in “Aglow”), High Impact Curling Mascara in black and an Almost Lipstick in “Black Honey”. You could then pick between three custom-fit skincare gifts (an amazing idea!) and I chose the “moisturising” option due to my desert-esque skin which included: Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief and All About Eyes De-Puffing Eye Massage.

I love these bonus time gifts as it is a great way to try out some new products! So what have you guys been buying recently? Have you picked up either of these amazing offers? Let us know! #twolittleowlsblog
