Review/FOTD: Laura Geller Baked Impressions Eye Duo in Fine Wines

C: I recently gave in and ordered the August Cohorted Beauty Box (for the full post click here) and one of the items inside was this eyeshadow duo by Laura Geller. I have seen these beauties around, but never invested in them/found them particularly exciting so it was nice to receive an item I wouldn’t normally try. You can buy this from Amazon for £9.95 here.

FullSizeRender-10

The packaging itself isn’t anything too exciting, but it is sturdy meaning you can throw it in your make up bag without being too worried about it. It also has a tiny mirror inside which is a nice addition but not that useful really as its so small!

FullSizeRender-11

When you open it up it is embossed with a beautiful floral/grape print, which is in-keeping with its name “fine wines”. The colours are also beautiful for Autumn and although not normally something I would pick for myself I actually really liked them!

And here is the smokey eye look I created using them! I added a winged liner for extra definition and I really like it! The eyeshadows are easy to blend and are super pigmented, they also last all day without creasing/disappearing!

So overall I am really impressed with these eyeshadows and pleased that my Cohorted box introduced me to a new brand. Have any of you guys tried anything from Laura Geller? What would you suggest trying next?! #twolittleowls

OOTD: parkers, vintage scarves and glittery jumpers

photo 1 photo 2 photo 3 photo 4

Parker: George at Asda

Jumper: Primark

Skirt: New Look

Boots: TK Maxx

Scarf: Vintage

Necklace: Vintage

A: This is a usual everyday look for me for this time of year. You will never see me in a pair of trousers (unless they are pyjamas), skirts and dress are so much comfier. I love this tartan one because it can be worn with pretty much anything, like a glittery jumper! The scarf works perfectly because it brings a bit of colour to the outfit, and my cameo necklace is one I wear all the time. Plus this coat is so so cosy, with its massive hood and faux fur linging – it makes me so happy! I actually bought it last year and I was so excited to get it out this year.

What’re your fave ootd’s for this time of year?

Cape: TK Maxx
Skirt: H&M
Top: Primark vest top
Cardigan: Dorothy Perkins (Annie’s!)
Boots: Doc Marten

C: To me, autumnal fashion is all about being cosy, as well as stylish. My “portable blanket” as my boyfriend calls it, is the perfect way to do this. It makes any simple outfit look well put together and I chose black and white so it would pretty much go with everything/anything! I styled these with a simple blue tube skirt, a black vest top and cardigan and my beloved Air Wares. Literally, haven’t worn anything else on my feet since I bought them! I think this outfit perfectly shows off my signature Autumn look, and capes are everywhere at the moment so make sure you get one!

A: I think that this is such a good look on Chloe – and blanket wraps are so easy to style. I do prefer them styled with a skirt, tights and boots though – rather that jeans, it just makes them look a little dressier, and the Doc Martens go perfectly with this look, giving it more of an edge. I have stolen Chloe’s wrap quite a few times, I am desperate for one myself but I don’t suit the monochrome trend so keeping my eyes peeled for a tartan one, please let me know if you’ve spotted one!

Dress: Vintage

Coat: Vintage

Shoes: New Look

C: I have always loved vintage, so when my beautiful nanny was having a clear out I obviously got first pick of the goodies (plus they don’t fit anyone else… what a shame). The dress and coat are AMAZING! They fit perfectly, and although I am not normally a dressy up sort of person during the day, I would totally wear this to a Christmas party. I was so pleased with these photos – Annie’s photography skills obvs – that I took them round to show my nanny and she was super excited that we were using her clothes! So crack on and make your nanny’s (and your wardrobes) happy, have a little looksie into those old closets and see if you can find some gems!

A: This is such an unusual look for Chloe, but I adore it. Normally she’s kicking around in her Doc Martens (see here!), but she looks so elegant and sophisticated in this outfit (say whattt?!). Her Nanny has SUCH a beautiful taste in clothes, and they fit Chloe perfectly. She is so lucky! And back in the day, clothes were made to be flattering – and this coat and dress really are. The beautiful beading on the dress is still in prefect condition, and the fabric looks brand new. Plus the coat is beyond amazing. We were pretty pleased with how these pictures turned and, and we are both convinced that it’s a result of THE coat (no offence Chloe). Sometimes, vintage just works in such a beautiful way!

Vinted Christmas Wishlist

A & C: Christmas is one of our most favourite times of the year, and we love nothing more than shopping at Christmas – so when the lovely team at Vinted asked us to put together a wishlist from their catalogue, we jumped at the chance! Vinted is a fantastic app and website which offers an endless array of fashion and accessory choices from one base. Annie recently reviewed the app, so click here for the full lowdown. So let’s get on to our wishlists!

A:

 9394873

Fedora Hat – £8.00

I’ve been after one of these for AGES, and I really love the shape of this one, plus its black so can be worn with pretty much the whole of my wardrobe!

8733035

Next Owl Boot Toppers £6.90 + P&P

Heheheheh I probably wouldn’t buy these for myself, but I couldn’t not include them and if someone bought them for me as a present I would love them! Owl boot toppers for Two Little Owls? Amazing. I probably wouldn’t wear these with anything other than wellies, but they would look great with them so totally worth it. Originally priced at £15, another bargain!

8545465

French Connection Gold Sequin £33.50 + P&P

This is PERFECT for Christmas. I love tunic/swing shape dresses (they hide the lumpy bits I don’t want people to see). And this one is beyond beautiful. I love it so much, and it would look great for a Christmas party, or even to wear on Christmas day! Originally £120, and this isn’t brand new, but if you’re looking for a bargain designer dress this is ideal.

9871915

New Look Tartan Cape £16 + P&P

I have been on the look out for a tartan cape for ages now, and I love the colours in this one. Chloe has a monochrome one which suits her perfectly (click here to see it!), and I love to steal it from time to time but the colours just don’t suit me. This is definitely on my Christmas list though!

C:

Urban Outfitters Tie-Dye Camisole Dress £25 + P&P

I love tie dye and I love dresses… so as soon as I saw this I knew I had to add it to my wish list! I would wear this with tights, ankle boots and my vintage leather jacket for a Christmas party.

photo 3-9

BooHoo Christmas Jumper £9

A Christmas wish list wouldn’t be complete without a Christmas jumper now would it?! I always wear one on Christmas day, and for £9 this is an absolute bargain! Definitely going on my Christmas list.

photo 2-20

Miss Selfridge Gold Metallic Skirt £15

I am in love with this! It is so perfect for a Christmas party, the gold pattern makes it super festive! The skater style also suits me, as it goes in at the waist. For any of you curvy ladies like me, this would be perfect for giving you that hourglass shape!

photo 1-18

Miss Selfridge Sheer Pink, Encrusted Collar Blouse £28

I picked this as I thought it would look amazing with the gold skirt! I love wearing skater skirts with a sheer blouse tucked in. The collar is also beautiful and adds even more bling to the outfit (you can never have too much!)

Have you guys ever used Vinted? It is such a good way to get a bargain! Let us know what you think of our wish lists! #twolittleowls

OOTD: florals, knitwear and doc martens

Dress: Sainsbury’s (!!)

Cardigan: New Look

Boots: Dr. Marten

Necklace: Primark

C:I love this outfit! Its comfy, warm, practical and pretty. Perfecto. I couldn’t believe I found this dress in Sainsers! £15 in the sale as well, so soon go it home and teamed it with the DM’s and some knitwear – definitely my signature style! I don’t like to look too girly, so I always team up dresses etc with some sort of manly boots (girly shoes just don’t suit my feet, honest).

A: This outfit sums Chloe up. The girly 40’s style dress is really lovely, I want it so will definitely have to borrow it soon, and it’s super wearable too – dress it up with heels for a smart work dress, or team it with a cosy cardigan like Chloe has done, and you’ve got a perfect everyday look. I love them way she has teamed it with her Doc Martens too. She hasn’t stopped wearing them since she bought them (true story), and is a pro at mismatching looks and making them work. The floral print with the heavy boots and detailed gold necklace works perfectly!

What do you guys think? Let us know! #twolittleowls

OOTD: matching your dress to your hair

Dress: H&M
Boots: TK Maxx
Jewellery: Vintage and stolen from Chloe

A: I LOVE this dress. I bought it one day when I was hunting for something to wear for an evening out with friends, and actually spotted it first in the shirt version. I loved the pattern but the shape just wasn’t right on me, so when I found the same fabric in a swing dress I took it straight to the till. Swing dresses are so fun to wear, they are comfy (and super handy when you’re going out for a massive meal, somewhere to disguise the food baby), and look good on most shapes. I particularly like wearing them because although I’ve got a few lumpy bits, I don’t have a curvy figure and am I little conscious of my lack of chest. This is flattering though, in the best kind of way. And don’t worry, I do realise that it is the same colour as my hair, for some reason I am always drawn to ginger clothes. No idea why cause they don’t always look good (there is such a thing as too much ginger ya know!). This kind of works though (I think??) because of the gorgeous 60’s tile print – which goes perfectly with the swing shape. I love anything vintage, and I think this really carries the retro vibe. The pleating on the back is such a lovely detail too! And it is super wearable, dress it up with heels and a jacket for a night out, or with flats and a cosy cardi for daytime.

C: To me this dress completely sums up Annies style; comfortable, vintage and different. It perfectly suits Annies figure (this shape looks amazing on most, apart from those with all the lady lumps like me, it would look like I was wearing a bin bag) and is perfect for this time of year. You could layer this up with a knitted cardi for day time, or a leather jacket for going out. Plus… it’s ginger. Annies ginger. Perfect combo.

Review: Mac Lipstick in Herione

C: I went to stay at my friends and she had a new Mac lipstick… so obviously I had to try it, take photos of it and try to steal it. Alas, stealing it didn’t work but I loved it so much it has gone on the Christmas list! So here goes, some horrendous, slightly drunk photos of Heroine. Enjoy.

photo 2-17

Oooh just look at that amazing colour! I don’t often wear such bright colours but this is just amazing. I’m glad Kitty is brave enough to have bought it so I got the chance to try it and full in love.

photo 3-8

See look, even after several glasses of wine I remembered to take a swatch for you lovely readers. If you are brave enough, I reckon this would suit most skin tones.

photo 1-15

And lastly, a lovely close up of my face to show you all! The colour pay off was amazing, this was just one sweep of lipstick and even though it is such a bright colour I didn’t need a lip liner to stop it spreading. It lasted for a good 3 hours before I needed to reapply it, I think it would have lasted longer but I was drinking wine and eating Chinese so it definitely passed the test for me!

Have any of you guys tried this bad boy? I hope I get it for Christmas now, I love it so much! #twolittleowls

Review: Oriflame Triple Core Lipstick

A & C: we recently attended the Bloggers Festival in London (which you can read about here and here) and one of the Brands that we met was Oriflame. Chloe had not previously heard of them, but Annie had and we were super excited to see all of the beautiful cosmetics they had brought along with them – check out the previous links for some photos! We were lucky enough to receive one of their Triple Core Lipsticks in our goodie bags in the colour “plum” so thought we had better write you lovely followers and readers a review!

photo(28)

As you can see from the photo above (and probably the name) these Lipsticks differ from others in that they have three different layers to them, described by Orfilame as “fusing caring balm, passionate colour and dramatic gloss into one”, so what did we think of them?

photo 2 (1)

Firstly we were both very impressed at Oriflame managing to pick a lipstick that suited us both/we both liked – we normally prefer completely different colours but this was perfect for both of us. So we imagine this shade would suit most people. It is very pigmented so the colour pay off is amazing – very good for a moisturising lipstick. It was also easy to apply and lasted a good three hours before reapplication was needed.

Chloe wasn’t entirely sold on the glittery aspect, as previously has found glitter to be too chunky/too much but this was just right. It added a subtle shimmer than looked lovely in the light and was still suitable for every day wear. We can’t wait to wear it this Autumn, and will definitely be looking into getting some more colours of this bad boy.

The Triple Core Lipsticks are available here for £10.95, let us know if you will be investing! #twolittleowls

A Review: Autumn Nails ft. Oriflame

A: We had the pleasure of meeting the lovely members of the Oriflame team at the #bloggersfestival back in September and they had such an amazing range of their make-up with them. Oriflame was established in 1967 – so they know a thing or two about the beauty world. Their nail polish collection ‘The ONE Long Wear Polish’ really caught our attention, from the amazing choice of colours to the beautiful packaging – and we were lucky enough to be sent some samples to try*!

photo 1

Because the weather has suddenly turned very Autumnal, whilst sitting in front of a roaring fire with a hot chocolate in my pj’s, it only felt right to prep my nails for the cold days ahead – and this gorgeous Ruby Rouge is perfect. The photos really don’t do this polish justice, but it is really hard to pick up it’s glossy berry tones with a picture – you will have to trust me on this one!

photo 4 (1)

Firstly, the pigmentation is amazing. This was after two coats, but the second coat only makes it darker – if you prefer the lighter ‘pinkish’ colour then one coat is opaque enough.  Application is super super easy. The brushes are such a lovely shape and fit to the shape of your nail bed really well. I’ve tried a lot of other polishes which advertise a brush which is the shape of your nail – but these are the best by far.

photo 1 (1)

photo 2 photo 3 photo 3 (1)

I also used some cute gems which we were sent from Born Pretty Store (we’ve mentioned them before on our blog here – they have an amazing range of nail art accessories!). These may be better and stand out more on a paler nail but I love them so much because of their iridescent sparkliness – they will be perfect for Halloween/Christmas nails! We will be featuring these again very soon, but in the mean time you can find the Born Pretty Store here.

We will be reviewing the other colours – Tiramisu and Breeze Blue, very soon so keep following! Click here to see Oriflame’s website – they really do have a beautiful range of products, and you can view their catalogue online too!

What are you perfect Autumn nails? #twolittleowls
