Chloe’s Current Make up Base!

C: Since starting this blog, my love for make up/beauty products has got a little crazy… meaning I have a large collection of make up and items tend to get forgotten about. So recently I decided to have a little make up shake up and I have re fell in love with several products and changed my every day make up a little. I personally love seeing what base products people are using (mainly as an excuse to buy more), so thought I would share my current favourites with you!

Mac Matchmaster Foundation in 1.0 – this rarely changes as my favourite foundation, just because it is the one foundation I have found that completely matches my skin colour but doesn’t make me look like a ghost! It is true love and I will continue to repurchase this until I am old and grey or Mac stop making it. Whichever comes first.

Benefit Boi-ing Concealer in Shade 1 – another old favourite that until recently I had forgotten about. I always like trying new concealers but in the end I always return to this. It literally covers everything and anything and lasts all day. You hardly need any product, so 3g of this lasts ages!

Soap & Glory Kick Ass Instant Retouch Pressed Powder – I won’t go on about this as I reviewed it here – but this goes perfectly with my Mac foundation. I buff it in with my RT Buffing Brush and together this duo makes my skin look flawless! It gets rid of any telltale foundation marks and keeps shine at bay all day.

So there are my make up base essentials! Any of you guys use these products? Or have any recommendations on what I should try next? #twolittleowls

Matte Revolution Lipstick by Charlotte Tilbury

“Go from Desk to Disco with my sumptuous Matte Revolution duos. Each duo is colour-curated to take you from chic and fresh in the AM, through to divine at dinner, and even more mesmerizing at midnight. Buildable, and blendable – refresh, layer, ombre… and embrace the Matte revolution…

Bond Girl is a uniquely chic, natural berry that’s perfect for the day. Prepare to wow with Glastonberry its partner lipstick – as this divinely, sheer blackcurrant transforms any wearer into a stylish, sex kitten with a rock n’ roll twist.”

A Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick is at the top of nearly every girl’s wishlist at the moment. The rose gold packaging, the matte tones and the berry shades – what more could a blogger want. My favourites from her new matte revolution range are the Glastonberry (lol) and Bond Girl – and she offers them in a ‘Desk to Disco’ set for £42.00, or £23.00 for one. Why add one to my wishlist when I can add two? Click here to see her other amazing shades.

You Look Lovely Today Canvas Pouch by Alphabet Bags

“This ‘You Look Lovely Today’ canvas pouch is an extremely complimentary and very useful zip clutch from Alphabet Bags. The lovely design has been screen printed in black ink onto lovely thick canvas with a black cotton lining. The pouches have been lovingly stitched and printed in the UK, complete with a heavy-duty gold-colour zip.”

I’m in the market for a new make-up bag, and I’ve had my eye on this one for ages now. I love the simple design, the size and the gold zip (very important to me that things are gold and not silver, bit weird I know). The phrase on the front is enough to make you smile on a dull morning whilst you’re attempting to make yourself look remotely presentable/human. This is £18 and is available through notonthehighsteet.com.

Korres Wild Rose 24 Hour Moisturising Brightening Cream

“Wild Rose oil is a natural source of vitamin C, which demonstrates significant repairing activity to fine lines and skin colour disorders, while adding brightness and radiance to the skin.
Wild rose fruit is noted for its high vitamin C level that demonstrates significant repairing action on fine lines and pigmentation disorders. Furthermore, wild Rose oil, rich in linoleic and linolenic acid, offers significant moisturising, healing and softening properties. At the same time, it forms a protective film on the skin that helps the cell regeneration and improves the texture of the epidermis.”

I’m still looking for my holy grail moisturiser – I just haven’t been wowed by anything yet. I don’t get particularly dry skin but I do have the problem of some serious spot invasions at the moment, which feels like it’s been going on for months. This caught my eye because of it’s healing properties – something which will help tame my irritated skin. This is £20 and from Feel Unique (again!).

What’s on your Autumn Wishlist? Do you have any moisturiser recommendations? #twolittleowls

April Beauty Favourites!

C: I cannot believe it is May already, April has whizzed by! So its time for my end of month beauty favs!

photo-8

First up is Lush’s Ultrabland (for a full review click here). I have been reaching for this cleanser each evening to remove my make up and calm my skin. I have already almost ran out of my first tub and have bought another to replace it already!

We then have Model Co’s lipgloss in Strip Tease which I mentioned in my Spring lip colour post. I am not usually that fond of lip gloss but this isn’t sticky and gives a perfect, long lasting nude shine. I love it!

We then have Soap & Glory’s Righteous Butter which has been a long standing favourite of mine. I have really dry skin and this bad boy sorts it out straight away, giving me soft, scented skin. I would really recommend this and the lovely Jaclyn recently did a good review on this on her blog The Little Scottish Corner so check that out!

We then have another S&G product (can you tell I’m obsessed?!) which is the Heel Genius. I recently review this here so I won’t waffle on but this is perfect for sorting dry feet out ready for summer!

Last but definitely not least we have my new Real Techniques brushes! I have been lusting after these for ages but as I have so many make up brushes I didn’t invest for ages… oh how I wish I had! These are perfect. They are super soft and apply make up so well. They literally give flawless coverage and now I neeeeed more. Yes, need.

What have been your April favourites? Let us know, we love hearing from you all! #twolittleowlsblog

Bargain Haul Day!

C: so I was in town yesterday with some free time… Which never ends well for my bank balance! But here is what I got:

20140425-181006.jpg

So first up… Hello Real Techniques brushes! When I saw these in TKMaxx for only £14.99 I just couldn’t resist. I have wanted to try these brushes in ages, and I was so excited that when I got home I took all my make up off just so I could put it back on again with these bad boys!

Next up I popped in to Superdrug to look for Cheryl’s nude lipstick for Loreal. Unfortunately all of them had been used, and I was sad so I had to buy something so I treated myself to this MUA blusher in a peachy/nude tone. For £1 it was a bargain as I have read so many good reviews about these.

Lastly I went to Lush to pick up some more of my Ultrabland cleanser as I have almost run out (for my full review click here) and also paid £1 for this Charity Pot sample. All the money goes to charity so I couldn’t say no could I?! Lush are lovely.

Hope you guys like my haul, what have you been treating yourselves too recently? #twolittleowlsblog
