Chloes May 2015 Empties

C: another month, another set of empties! Once again I have done super well at shopping my stash and using up lots of samples and half opened products, I had so many and it seemed ridiculous to pack them all up for my move! So here we go!

1. Valentina by Valentino perfume sample – Annie gave me loads of these samples just after Christmas from her mum, and I have found them super useful for keeping in my handbag/going away bag when you dont want to risk breaking a whole bottle of perfume! I loved this scent, it was so fresh and floral, yet lasted all day! I got so many compliments whilst wearing this, even from my mother who wouldn’t normally comment on that sort of thing!

Repurchase? this is definitely going on my Christmas list next year (I never buy myself perfume… no idea why!)

2. Weleda Millet Nourishing Shampoo – another Birchbox sample here I think. This smelt amazing, and left my hair feeling clean and soft so it was definitely a thumbs up from me. Unfortunately I don’t personally think you can get a feel for the shampoo from such a small sample as I only got two washes out of this, but I did enjoy using it!

Repurchase? Sure, but only because I love Weleda products, would deffo need a larger sample to really comment on the shampoo’s effectiveness.

3. KMS Curl Up Wave Foam – oh look, another Birchbox sample. Clearly it is Birchboxes fault I have cupboards full of samples! I won’t go on about this as I reviewed it here so make sure you take a little look if you are interested!

Repurchase? I already have!

4. Rimmel BB Cream in Matte – another product that I have previously reviewed here

Repurchase? I already have! I didn’t get the matte one though, as my skin was dry and I am a bit sad cos I didn’t like it… so I will have to go and buy this one again!

5. Naobay Body Radiance Lotion – the third Birchbox sample of the post! This contains olive oil, avocado oil and shea butter, so it was super moisturising. I also loved the scent, which to me smelt like limes… but I cannot see any lime in the ingredient so I am probably just wrong on that. Soz. I really enjoyed using this, it helped my dry skin and was just a pleasure to use.

Repurchase? No. Not because I didn’t like it, as I did. But because I think there are plenty of other products that do the same for less pennies, and because I have insane amounts of body butter/lotion to use up!

So thats my empties done for another month! Have any of you guys tried any of these products? If so did you agree with my mini reviews? #twolittleowls

Chloe’s June Birchbox

C: I was super excited to receive my Birchbox yesterday – and the postman came early so I got a little sneak peak before work! So here is what I got and my first impressions, I will be doing reviews on singular products after I have had a chance to test them properly.

So firstly the theme was “Global Strikers” and included beauty products from around the world to celebrate the World Cup. Personally I am not keen on football unless a pub/lots of cider is involved but I thought it was a good theme none the less, as I know there are a lot of football fans out there. We also received a mini flipflop keyring as a lifestyle extra. It was a nice touch but once again not my sort of thing.

So on to the products. The first thing I looked at properly was the Yves Rocher Sheer Botanical Lipstick. There is nothing better than lipsticks in a beauty box and I was not disappointed by this. The shade I got (I can’t find a name anywhere!) is beautiful and although “sheer” it is moisturising and build able. It also smells amazing…. like I want to eat the whole tube.

I then went straight to the Opi nail varnish – another favourite thing to get in my Birchbox. You can never go wrong with nail varnish or Opi. Once again I cannot find a shade name but this is a beautiful purple/grey shimmery/glittery shade. Excellent description there. Annie wasn’t sure on this straight away but I really like it and can’t wait to try it out properly.

I also received this generous sample of Silk + Honey Shea Butter Hair Mask. I love being able to try new hair masks/products as often they are very expensive and you never know if they are going to work for you. Plus once again, this sample smells amazing.

We then have Naobay’s Body Radiance Lotion. I really loved Naobay’s milk cleanser so I am looking forward to trying some of their other products, this is also a good sized sample which means you can get a good feel for the product and see how it works for you.

Lastly we have the Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre – posh name for a face moisturiser. I don’t use any facial moisturisers except for my Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel so it will be interesting to try something new. I would never invest in a different moisturiser as I know  that the Clinique product works for me, so this is the perfect way for me to step outside of my comfort zone and try something new. I will report back!

So overall a great box from Birchbox and probably the only aspect of the World Cup that I will really enjoy! It contained a great mix of skincare and make up and a good variety of new and old favourite brands. In my opinion Birchbox have really stepped up their game this month! #twolittleowlsblog

Aprils Empties – Part 2!

C: April was such a good month for using up my stash (and therefore saving some pennies!) that I have had to break my empties post up into two parts (see part one here). So here is what else I have used up this month and what I thought of them.

So first up we have Phillip Kingsleys Elasticizer which I got for Christmas (I can’t afford it, its super expensive!). I really liked this, it made my hair super soft and bouncy and definitely reduced fly aways. It really is a luxury hair mask, but there are plenty of other cheapies out there that also do a great job!

Repurchase? No but only due to the price, I would definitely ask for it for Christmas again though!

Soap & Glory’s Scrub Of Your Life. Absolutely love this. The smell, the texture, the exfoliation. Perfect. It is gentle enough to use everyday but it got rid of my horrid dry elbows/skin. I love S&G!

Repurchase? Definitely!

Moroccan Oil for hair. My favourite hair oil, it keeps hair in good condition, reduces frizz and doesn’t make your hair look oily/greasy. It also smells amazing. We will be posting a hair oil comparison/review tomorrow so keep an eye out for that!

Repurchase? Yes.

Naobay Moisturising Milk Cleanser. I received this sample in my Birchbox and I have been loving it. It is gentle enough to use on your eye area and yet removes make up really effectively. A definite recommendation for anyone with sensitive/dry skin.

Repurchase: Yes, if there wasn’t thousands of others I want to try! Might use my Birchbox points though!

Lastly we have the Clinique Liquid Facial Soap. I often re-buy this as it is perfect for my skin (although a little pricey). It removes dirt and leaves your skin feeling really clean and smooth. It also helps get rid of my blemishes when I am having a break out and doesn’t irritate my skin any further.

Repurchase: Yes.

Hope you enjoyed our post today, have you guys tried any of these products? #twolittleowlsblog
