Project Pan!

A & C: hi guys and welcome to our new feature: project pan! We may be a little late to the party on this one as we have seen so many project pan videos/posts and think it is an amazing idea! As beauty bloggers we end up with so many amazing products that just get pushed to the back of our stashes and never get used. Well we have decided that that is clearly a waste and we need some motivation to use up items in our stashes rather than just move on to the next new thing.

I know this is a Summer project for most people, and we are gonna stick with the lipstick theme for this Summer like everyone else, but every couple of months we are going to set ourselves a new target for project pan and keep you guys updated! If you would like to join us then let us know in the comments, and we can include links to your blogs etc. all we ask in return is a link back to this post when you set your project pan targets!

We shall be posting updates/FOTDs featuring our chosen lipsticks, and have decided (as we are as late to this as everything else) that we have until the end of September to use these bad boys up!

Chloe’s picks:

Clinique Chubby Stick in Watermelon – I love this beauty so much, that I have almost finished it and have been saving the last bit for some sort of special occasion that will never happen! I have loads of other chubby sticks waiting to be opened so that is why I chose this! It is also super easy to wear every day so think using it up is achievable!

Model Co Party Proof Lipstick in Kitty – One of my favourite Birchbox discoveries was this beauty. I loved it so much that I bought the set of 3… meaning I have two of these! Hence why I have chosen to use it up! It doesn’t break my heart too much to say goodbye when I know I already have another!

Soap and Glory Sexy Motherpucker Lipgloss – I reviewed this here, and apparently lip glosses don’t have an excellent use by date once opened so thought I would choose this. I also feel like a chubby stick, lipstick and lip gloss are three very different options so I have something for every occasion – meaning I won’t get too bored of using these up!

Annies Picks:

Avon Colour Trend in Coral Wisp – I love a good Avon bargain as much as the next beauty blogger, and this is a beauty. It has a gorgeous pale coral colour which is super buildable and ideal for summer. Plus it smells amazing!

Model Co Party Proof in Kitty – I’m totally with Chloe on the one, it’s one of my faves. But don’t worry – I have another in my lipstick stock so I won’t mind using it either! It’s really wearable and goes with pretty much any look – day or night!

Rimmerl Lasting Finish in Birthday Suit – this is a true oldie, I can’t even remember when I got it and I forgot how lovely it is. It’s a for fours nude with a gold shimmer, so another summer perfect lip product. I’m really looking forward to getting back into this – but I have a feeling I might be sad when it’s all gone!

So what do you guys think of project pan?! Let us know if you want to get involved and if so what you think our theme should be for the end of September! We can’t wait to get started designing some make up looks with these badboys! #twolittleowls

Review: Cynthia Rowley Beauty Creamy Lip Stain in Poppy

C: I received a sample size of this product in my June Birchbox, which I reviewed here, and although I wasn’t particularly pleased with my box/the size of this sample I am always eager to try out new lip products. Mostly in the hope that I don’t like them and then won’t feel the need to add to the thousands of other lip products I own and don’t wear! This product is a Birchbox exclusive, and available here for £14.

As you can see from the tiny sample, the packaging is pretty attractive and the full size version is exactly the same as this as far as I can see!

I received the shade Poppy, which is a sheer red with a really fine glitter running through it. Although sheer, the formula is buildable so you can layer it up to achieve the colour you want. Perfect for make up/red lip beginners who might be scared of wearing such a bright colour.

A little selfie of me to show you what it looks like on – this is with two layers of colour which I really liked. It was bright enough to be noticeable, but not so bright that it couldn’t be worn every day. The formula is also really moisturising which surprised me… even though it claims to be I didn’t believe them at first as most stains are quite drying or uncomfortable feeling on the lips which this really isn’t.

After an hour or so/eating or drinking the glossiness disappears but the stain remains in place. Meaning you would need to top up if you really wanted the glossy effect all day, but the colour itself fades evenly so if you are out and about or at a meal you wouldn’t have to panic about reapplication! The stain itself lasted a good four hours on me, which is really good for me, as I am permanently drinking water and snacking so normally lip stains last about two hours!

All in all, a really positive experience from Cynthia Rowley, I will definitely be looking to invest in some other colours! Did anyone else get this from Birchbox? What did you think? #twolittleowls

Spring Lip Colours

C: as the seasons change so does our choice of colours/finishes of our make up. As the weather gets sunnier I tend to stop wearing the dark matte colours of winter and lean towards a brighter, glossier lip! So to celebrate such seasonal changes I have picked out my top favourite lip products that are currently at the top of my lip product drawer!

So from the far left we have:

Model Co Shine Ultra Lip Gloss in Strip Tease – £12 and available here

Clinique Chubby Stick in Whoppin’ Watermelon 06 – £17 from here

Mac LustreGlass in Venetian B62 – £14 from here

Kate Moss Rimmel Lipstick in 110 – £5.49 from Boots

Maybelline Baby Lips  in Pink Punch – £2.99 from Boots

And now for the swatches:

So firstly we have the Model Co Lipgloss. This is a sheer nude gloss, with hints of glitter/shimmer through it which gives a perfect “your lips but better” look! It isn’t sticky and lasts a surprisingly long time for a gloss! Perfect for a day time or night time look.

Next up we have the Clinique chubby stick, which is a beautiful pale pink that can be worn as a subtle colour, or layered up for a more striking look. I used this all the time, as it has good pigmentation when layered up, but is less high maintenance than wearing a lip stick when you are going out for lunch etc.

Well we couldn’t have a lip product post and not mention either Mac or a red lip could we?! So we have combined both! This Lustre Glass by Mac is a highly pigmented gloss in bright red. A perfect way of updating your favourite red lip from a dark matte colour to a Spring inspired glossy lip!

Next up we have the Kate Moss for Rimmel Lipstick in 110. This is the perfect coral shade for Spring, and lasts forever! The only thing I would say is that if you aren’t a pro at putting on lipstick, I would be wary of going out the line, because this stuff does not come off your skin (not ideal for drunken lip stick application!)

Last but not least we have the Maybelline Baby Lips in Pink Punch, I won’t go on too much because every beauty blogger and their mother have heard of these. Pink Punch is a bright pink lip balm which is the perfect way of looking after your lips and giving a pop of colour this Spring. This bad boy hasn’t left my handbag all month!

So what lip products are you guys using this Spring? Let us know/if you have any recommendations! #twolittleowlsblog
