May’s Empties!

C: Well that is another month that has just flown by. June already? Crazy? I have once again done pretty good this month at using up my stash – I am trying to re-discover old favourites rather than keep spending money as we are saving for my amazing future house!

photo(18)

Vaseline Spray & Go body moisturiser – I won’t go on about this as I recently reviewed it here. I am very sad this has ran out and I will be sneaking a new one in the trolley when I next do my food shopping!

Repurchase? Yes, definitely!

Tresemme Instant Refresh dry shampoo – another product we reviewed here. A dry shampoo that got the job done, but I didn’t like the scent. I was more than happy to use it up though!

Repurchase? No, just because of the scent. Annie would repurchase this though.

Simple Moisturising Facial Wash – I always have a bottle of face wash that I keep in the shower, as there is nothing better than washing your face first thing in the morning to wake yourself up! This was perfect to start off my AM skin care routine as it gently cleaned my skin without irritating it, what more could you want?

Repurchase? Yes! I have a few others I would like to try too though.

Lush, Ultrabland – oh look… another product I have already reviewed for you (click here!). This is my holy grail cleanser. Removes make up, calms down my skin, moisturises and reduces my break outs.

Repurchase? Already done!

Beauty Protector hair oil – I received this sample in my Birchbox and I have enjoyed using it up. I see this more as a leave in conditioner than a hair oil as it doesn’t seem to combat my frizz etc. but it really nourishes my hair and it smells lovely.

Repurchase? Maybe, once I have used up my other hair oils!

Rimmel Glam Eyes Professional Liquid Eyeliner – my favourite eyeliner. I know some people really struggle with liquid eyeliner brushes and prefer a pen but I love this. It is the perfect black and the tiny brush allows for precision/fine lining. It is not waterproof, but as long as you don’t get stuck in the rain/cry at puppys on the TV it lasts all day.

Repurchase? I have done already!

So what have you guys been using up this month? Have you tried any of the products we have mentioned? Let us know! #twolittleowlsblog

Aprils Birchbox: Chloe’s Box

C: both myself and Annie received our Birchboxes on Saturday, and although we usually do a joint review we both actually received different items this month so we are going to do our own individual posts. So here’s my Birchbox:

Image

The theme this month is “Good Enough to Eat” so all products contain ingredients that “would fit just as nicely in your kitchen as they would in your bathroom”. I really like this idea, and it is always good to use natural products where possible.

The first item I noticed in my box is this massive 250ml bottle of Tommyguns Pomegranate and Orange Flower Shampoo which is full size and retails at £5.50. It is always nice to receive a full size item in a beauty box and I am so excited to try this, it smells AMAZING.

Next up is THEBALM Cosmetics How ‘Bout Them Apples Cheek & Lip Cream in the colour “Pie”. The packaging of this is gorgeous and I haven’t used many cream blushes so I am looking forward to trying this. I am not sure how much each individual colour in the palette weighs, so I am value-ing this sample at around £2.

I then received the Aquamarine Azulino Color Club Gala’s Gem’s Collection nail varnish which is a gorgeous pearlescent pale blue. I love nail varnish, so a new addition to my collection is always welcome. The set of 4 costs £15 so this is worth around £3.75.

Snuggled in the corner of my box was the One Love Organics Skin Savior Waterless Beauty Balm which is described as a multi-tasking balm for cleansing, moisturising and removing make up. Can’t wait to try this bad boy, I love trying out new skincare brands. The full size version of this is £30 for 39ml so this is worth £11.54!

Last but not least is the Lord & Berry Silk Kajal Kohl-Liner in Black. You can never have too many eye liners, and although quite small this would be perfect for slipping in my hand bag so I am happy to receive it. Full size is £10 for 4g so this is worth about £1.50

I also received a bag of Propercorn as my Life Style Extra which was a lovely addition to my already amazing box which would cost 90p! Bargain! I have already eaten this… it took a lot of self restraint to not eat it before I took my photos!

Overall I really liked this months Birchbox, it contained a good mix of make up and skin care and included several brands that I had never heard of before. The items in my box were also worth a total of approximately £25, which makes it definitely worth the £12.95 (including postage and packaging) that I paid for it!

If you would like to sign up to Birchbox please use this link and we will both receive £5 worth of points to spend on the Birchbox website! Please also keep an Annie out for Annie’s post on her Birchbox, we will also post about individual products in more detail once we have had time to test them properly! #twolittleowlsblog

Whats in Chloe’s handbag?

C: Following Annie’s post on her handbag essentials (to see it click here) I thought I would share with you what I keep in mine (well last night it was full of hip flasks… but thats not a regular occurrence!).

 20140330-201400.jpg

1. I have super long hair (it’s finally grown – yay!) so I cant go anywhere without my tangle teezer, hair grips and something to put it up with in case I get stuck in horrid English weather and start developing dreadlocks.

2. Ray Bans, these are actually my boyfriends but I love them so I steal them all the time for driving.

3. Concealer, face powder and Benefits Porefessional are essential for that mid day shine/make up slid top up.

4. Eye Liner, this one is from Korres and is amazing. It is so easy to apply and looks like liquid eye liner if you are in a rush and have to do your make up quickly.

5. Soap & Glory body spray, my love for this brand is well known, and I hate the thought of smelling so I always carry this round with me.

6. Hand Food (S&G again!) and a nail file, are my essentials for saving that broken nail on the go and to keep my hands moisturised. I get eczema on my hands so this saves me when I am out and about and my skin is starting to get dry!

So what are your handbag essentials? #twolittleowlsblog
