The Body Shop Haul

C: we have a body shop outlet near us, and decided that we haven’t made the most of the amazing offers they have in store – if you buy 4 items you get 40% off, or 3 items gives you 35% off! So here is what I decided to invest in:

Ginger Anti-Dandruff Shampoo – pregnancy hormones haven’t only been playing havoc with my figure and skin… It has also been having an affect on my scalp too! The lovely ladies at the body shop gave me some samples of this beast to try and it works wonders! I shall be writing you guys a post about this soon!

Satsuma Body Polish – this is technically for L… It’s his fav shower gel! But we kind of share it cos it smells nice and I steal it (doesn’t count as real thievery as I bought him it!)

Peppermint Cooling Foot Spray – they didn’t have any of these left but the lovely lady in the shop took one out of a gift bag for me as she felt bad for the hot sweaty pregnant lady! This feels AMAZING! You should all buy this immediately and have super minty cold feet!

Blue Corn 3 in 1 Deep Cleansing Mask – this was bought on a bit of a whim as I normally wouldn’t buy a £10 mask (although £6 with the discount) without reading reviews first. I have been really enjoying having time to do face masks now iv finished work and thought I had better make the most of the pampering whilst Ivy is still cooking!

So what do you guys think of my purchases? Have you tried any of these products? I am super pleased with my bargains and can’t wait to test them all out. Annie will also have a haul post for you on Monday, as for once we bought completely different things, so make sure you keep an eye out for that! #twolittleowls

August Empties: Take One!

C: Due to trying to use up my stash of samples/products before moving house, I have so many empties this month I have had to split them into two posts… impressive! Right, so here is what I have used up this month:

photo 1(11)

Mitchum Advanced 48 hr Protection – deodrant is not something I would normally mention over here as we aim to discuss all things beautiful and lovely – however, non-sweaty pits are beautiful in my view so I had to include this! I have issues… basically I panic I smell all the time (Annie gets fed up of being made to smell me) and this is long lasting with zero horrid sweaty patches! I found this formula a little drying for my sensitive skin, so I have now bought the cream version… hello HG deodrant. True Love.

Repurchase: hella yeah!

Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque – I won’t bang on about this as we have reviewed this face mask here and I love it! It is perfect for drying up excess oils and for clearing out clogged up skin.

Repurchase: I may have accidentally re-bought it already even though I have loads of face masks to use up!

The Body Shop Olive Shower Gel – Soap free and made from Community Fair Trade olive-oil from Italy! Perfect for my sensitive skin but not normally the fragrance I would go for in TBS. I won this in a work-do raffle at Christmas (obviously everyone else picked food hampers… I went for anything and everything beauty related) and didn’t get round to using it for ages, but the scent is amazing! So delicate yet feminine, I wouldn’t even know how to go about describing it but I recommend you go and have a sniff/buy the whole range immediately.

Repurchase: I haven’t re-bought it yet as I am working through my beauty stash and have lots of half opened shower gels to use up, but I will be buying from this range again in the future – loved it!

Rimmel Glam’eyes Professional Liquid Eyeliner – another one of my favourite products here. True black eye liner that has a precision brush and lasts for hours (unless it rains, I haven’t found a waterproof liquid eyeliner I’m not allergic too yet!). I know lots of people prefer a felt tip end for easier application but I prefer the preciseness (is that a word?!) of this!

Repurchase: I already have!

What have you guys been using up this month? All very positive from me about these little beauties, has anyone else tried this and loved them too?! #twolittleowlsblog

June Favourites

C: now you all need to be super proud of me… I haven’t bought anything new in June! I am saving for a house (which we have hopefully found! Pics to come if you are interested!) and so I have been searching through my beauty stash and re-discovering old favourites that I had forgotten about! So here is what I have been loving this month.

photo(20)

So first up we have Models Own scented nail polish in Grape Juice. I love this colour for the Summer months, and although if you use a top coat you can’t smell it anymore, it lasts for ages without chipping.

The Body Shop’s Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter – I won’t bang on about this as I recently reviewed this here and I have been using it every day to treat my skin and removed all my make up.

St Tropez Gradual Tan… not something I would normally use as I like being pale! However, after getting a tan in a t-shirt dress and then being a bridesmaid in a strapless dress I needed something to even out the farmer tan/ make me look less like my dad. This was perfect for every day use and gave me a lovely natural colour without being orange/patchy. I would recommend for any fake tan newbies as if I can use it, anyone can.

Mac Blusher in Stay Pretty. I won’t go on about this either because everyone knows Mac is amazing, but this beautiful pink has been my go to shade this Summer/Spring. It is so pretty and blends out perfectly.

Last up we have the Balms Mary Lou Manizer – a beauty blogger favourite. I only got this a little while ago with my Birchbox points (and therefore doesn’t count as spending money) and I love it! You can use it for highlighting cheeks, eye brows, eyes or even as an eyeshadow. It also lasts all day and I just love it. The packaging is also super cute which makes me even happier every time I use it.

What have you guys been loving this month? Let us know! #twolittleowlsblog

Review: Body Shop Sumptuous Cleansing Butter

C: if you are a regular twolittleowls reader you will know that I got this in a haul about a month ago, and after using it for this amount of time I feel like I can now share with you a detailed review on how well it works!

20140627-104721.jpg

So what does the Body Shop say about this product? This sumptuous cleanser removes all traces of make up, whilst leaving skin lovely and soft. It is also suitable for sensitive skin – something I can definitely test out!

So what did I think of it? Well I can’t describe it better myself! I absolutely love it. It removes all of my make up, it’s only problem being my Benefit They’re Real mascara, but after a second swipe all of that is gone too. My skin is left amazingly soft, and as I have dry skin it really helped keep my dry areas moisturised without making the rest of my skin oily. I could even skip moisturising some days!

It also did not irritate my skin in anyway, and is so gently you can rub it into your eye area to remove make up with no sensitivity. For £12 I would definitely recommend, as I have been using it for a month every evening and I have barely made a dint in it! Amazing value for money in my opinion.

Have any of you guys tried this? I know it is pretty popular with beauty bloggers so let me know what you think! #twolittleowlsblog.

The Tea Tree Range from The Body Shop: first thoughts

20140524-185133-67893318.jpg

A: firstly, apologies for the picture but it was too funny to not use. Ted was not impressed with me for trying to use the last of today’s sunlight to get a photo, I had to move him from his favourite sleeping place. Anyway, on to the serious business.
I featured these three beauties in haul post earlier this week (see it here), and I thought I should give you my first thoughts because I’m super happy with these purchases.

I’ve used tea tree oil before, because it’s anti-bacterial, it’s a well known aid to help healing those pesky blemishes. I hadn’t ever used any other tea tree products but The Body Shop had a flash sale on last week with 40% off – practically free, so I decided to take the plunge.
I chose the facial wash, the exfoliator and the blemish fade night lotion.
I’ve been using the facial wash morning and night now since Wednesday and I can see a difference already in my skin. My pores look smaller (whether they are or not I don’t know….) and my face feels fresh and clean. The tea tree is fairly strong in this product, but I like that because it feels like I’m giving my skin a really deep clean without drying it out. After I’ve used the wash in the evening, I use the blemish lotion. This is a perfect accompaniment to the facial wash as it is like a soothing gel which sinks into your skin instantly. The tea tree is mild in this and acts in a cooling way, rather than harsh like some other tea tree products. It leaves my skin feeling refreshed and moisturised – perfect.
Lastly, the exfoliator. I have only used this twice – it isn’t something I would use more than twice a week because it’s what I’d call a ‘super exfoliator’. The tea tree is really strong in this and it can feel a little harsh, but it does make your skin feel like you’ve removed every last scrap of make up and virtually brand new and squeaky clean.

All in all, I am SO happy with this range. I really struggle with break outs but (not wanting to jinx it) this seems to be keeping them at bay, so fingers crossed! I love buying stuff from The Body Shop too because it makes me feel good, and like I’m supporting a company that looks after the planet.

Have you tried the tea tree range from The Body Shop? #twolittleowls

A recent haul!

C: I have made several orders and been shopping with week – oops! So I thought I would share with you what I have been buying!

Image

First up we have the Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Butter which Annie ordered me as they were having a 40% off flash sale. I had seen a lot of reviews on this, and first impressions are very good! I shall do a review on it as soon as I have been using it for a while and have a better understanding of its long term effects (oooh listen too me, Uni mode!). I also went shopping with Annie (we are bad people) and picked up this Rimmel liquid eye shadow at the bargain make up shop in Spalding. Reduced from £4.99 to £1.99, I just had to have it. My excuse was that I needed change for parking… that counts right?

Whilst shopping I also picked up this jumper from an M&S outlet for just £9! You really should check out M&S sales as they have some amazing things, you just have to look through. I really like the detailing on this and will be perfect for those summer nights when it starts to get chilly.

I also used my Birchbox points up this month so I got the BALM’s Mary-Lou Manizer and these Model Co lipsticks for just 50p… amazing! This reward scheme is one of the reasons I love Birchbox, as it really is very generous. I have one of the Model Co lipsticks in “Kitty” and I have almost used it up so I needed to repurchase. Reviews to come of course!
