Review: Soap & Glory Drama Clean 5-in-1 Micellar Water

C: I recently decided to delve a little deeper into S&G’s skincare products, as even though they are one of my favourite brands I hadn’t actually tried many of their skincare products –  I had stuck to those I knew and mainly focused on showergels/body butters. As there was a 3 for 2 offer in Boots I decided to try their micellar water, as lets be honest such products are always useful to have around and I could justify adding a nifty little product to my ever expanding stash. This product is available here for £6!

“No rubbing required! Remove make-up, dirt and impurities in one clean sweep with our astonishingly gentle yet effective Drama Clean™ 5-in-1 Micellar Cleansing Water (or as we call it “miracle water”)”.

So according to S&G this is a miracle water… and unfortunately (normally I adore all S&G products, and haven’t tried one I didn’t before) I have to disagree! I have tried this a couple of times now, and although it soothes my sensitive skin it just doesn’t remove make up effectively enough for me. My mascara (admittedly Benefits They’re Real) just got moved around my face rather than removed and my skin didn’t feel particularly clean. I ended up using my Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Balm after this to actually remove my make up properly.

I am super sad about this, as normally S&G are spot on with their products! Has anyone else tried this? Have I managed to pick up a dud?! On the plus side though I am still getting plenty of use from this product by using it as a toner instead, to make sure my skin is super clean after initially removing make up with something a little more powerful.

On a side note it is also quite fragrant.. which I find strange in a micellar water and isn’t something I have come across before! I can’t work out whether I really like it or hate it!

Has anyone else tried this? I would love to hear if you had a similar experience to me! #twolittleowls

The only Micellar water I have tried is Garnier’s. I find it works well to remove foundation, bronzer, concealer. However, when it comes to my eye make up it does not remove it all. I have to use a Johnson make up remover wipe to remove my eye make up. But I do wear a lot of eye make up so that could be a contributing factor lol.

I have tried garniers and found it pretty effective at removing eye make up, it’s only my benefit mascara it can’t remove completely! My definite favourite is bioderma though, that beast can remove anything! X
