Review: For the Love of Kiko

C: the last time we visited London the first place we both decided we needed to go was Kiko. You can see Annie’s haul post here if you fancy a nosey! I also made a couple of purchases, as my lovely mother in law had previously treated me to a lipstick and a nail polish whilst she was staying in Italy and I had fallen in love with the brand. So here is what I picked up:

Smart Lipstick in 913 Rosewood – £3.90

Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow in 04 Golden Chocolate – £6.90

So first lets discuss the lipstick. So its less than £4… that is basically free and the biggest bargain ever for such a high quality product. The packaging is sleek and practical, it has never opened in my handbag and still looks lovely and new. The lipstick itself is comparable to some of the high end lipsticks I have spent £15+ on, as the formula is amazing. It is pigmented, smooth to apply, hydrating and long-lasting. Literally couldn’t want more from a £3.90 lipstick, apart from that I now want all the colours/to try the other formulas.

As for the long lasting stick eyeshadow it certainly lives up to its name. I read about these on someone else’s blog (I can’t remember who but if I do, I shall post a link for you all) as these are not something I would normally buy. I just remember the stick eyeshadows from my childhood that lasted about 20 minutes, had horrid chunks of glitter in and came in bright blue or pink! This on the other hand is one of my new favourite products. I went for a brown, as I wanted something I could get a lot of use out of and I love a nice neutral eye (means you can wear more lipstick) but this is so much more than that! As you can see from the swatches it has the most beautiful gold glitter running through it. It is finely milled and doesn’t clump at all, Annie wanted it as soon as she saw the swatches! It also lasts all day without creasing or disappearing on me. After trying it out I am totally ready to invest in some more colours!

Have any of you guys tried anything from Kiko? Let us know (and send links in case it was your post that swayed me to try the eyeshadow sticks!) #twolittleowls

I definately need to pick some of these up when am next in london. Am totally the same as you about shadow sticks, but if there is a cheap one to try out to convince me otherwise, I might be more willing to join the shadow stick club!
