A Vintage Bride ft. Lover.ly

A: I was recently having a browse on the world wide web, and quickly got  lost in the never ending scrolling, but found myself on the beautiful Lover.ly Website. I was so inspired by it that I knew I would have to put together a post for you all and share their gorgeous wedding dresses. Unfortunately neither of us are currently engaged (very stubborn boyfriends), but we love weddings and hey, a girl can dream.

Lover.ly was launched in 2012 by a one-time maid of honor and her team of former bridesmaids and groomsmen determined to simplify the wedding planning process. It’s described as ‘the new way to plan your wedding’, and it really is. You can search under key words, themes and colours – making the whole process so much easier to find anything and everything for your big day. All the products they feature include direct links to the site they are available from, as well as prices – it’s pretty much like a shopping version of Pinterest – what more could you want in life?

I’ve decided to pull together a ‘look’, featuring hair, make-up and accessories to go with a theme I would choose – which would have to be bohemian and vintage inspired. So here is my choice;

Pas De Deux Bridal – Ginata Coverlet & Ebro Skirt (price on request)

Firstly, I apologise in advance to any brides to be. If you’re anything like me you will have fallen in love with this beautiful skirt and top combination (and if you have, DO NOT click the link to head to their website because their whole collection is just as beautiful!). I love the classic cut of the Ebro Skirt, with it’s nipped in waistband and gorgeous chantilly lace and illusion tulle layers, it really is my ideal wedding day look. The two-piece wedding day look is a fairly new trend, and it’s so versatile, you can really easily tune the whole outfit to exactly what you want. Personally, this being teamed with the Ginata Coverlet is bridal perfection to me. I love the high neck and sleeves with the skin showing through, keeping you covered but not concealed – for any brides who have insecurities about their arms, or chest, like I do. I also love the vintage vibe that a two-piece has and when you throw in the silhouette that the skirt creates, you’ve got a gorgeous retro-inspired bridal look. Unfortunately, this is one of the few collections on Lover.ly that don’t inform you of their prices, which normally means they are pretty pricey (sorry about that!).

Nars Illuminator

Kiko Cosmetics Velvet Mat Satin Lipstick in Autumn Pink

Benefit They’re Real Push-Up Liner

Make-up wise, I think a classic winged liner would be perfect for this dress – with dewey highlights and rose coloured lips. The Benefit eyeliner is renowned for its lasting power – and would stay in place all day for a Bride on her wedding day. And the Kiko lipstick is a beautiful shade of pink to compliment the Nars illuminator (click here for a full review of the Kiko lipstick). This simple make-up look would go perfectly with the dress, the heavy lace pattern would be too much if it was teamed with bold make-up.

A floral hair crown would be perfect to finish this bridal look and would look beautiful either with long, tousled curls or a messy up do. Fresh flowers would be a must for me though, and you can tie them in with your colour scheme and bridal bouquet to bring the whole wedding together.

I love the overall look of this – the heavily patterned lace dress with it’s gorgeous texture and style is complimented by the simple yet romantic make-up. The floral hair crown would really bring this look together, and I would choose one in pink and orange hues, to compliment the pink undertone in the lipstick. The overall muted pastel tones that this wedding look would create would be perfect for a spring/outdoor wedding – something which I would adore!

I’ve had so much fun writing this post, and would like to send a big thank you to Lover.ly for the inspiration!

What do you think to this Bridal look? #twolittleowls
